my client wants to rank on its services but the keywords for those services are with high difficulty. Is there a way to find keywords with same intent but low difficulty?

Use paid tools for finding alternate keywords and google keyword planner as well. Analyze your competitor keywords and using long tail keywords has it's own advantage when it comes to ranking

I would try to do a competitor analysis to see what kind of keywords other competitors in your niche, who are not as big, are using in order to rank on the SERPs. You can then use those keywords to rank.

If your client is focusing on specific location , use localized keywords... Also look for Semantic variations of Keywords and you

can get those keywords from Keyword planner , Ahref , semrush ....

As you have mentioned that your service keywords have high KD, I would suggest you take long tail keywords. Lets give an example. Suppose you sell SEO services and you could target keywords like SEO audit service, or on-page optimization service, editorial backlink service etc. This is one strategy.

You can also maximize this by SEO service for mental health, SEO service for dentists, or dentist SEO service. I hope you get the point.

You could also add local names like SEO service London, SEO service in NY etc.

After gaining some authority and understanding, you could go for more head-like keywords.

Best wishes for your journey.

Thanks for the above contributions, so I'm on the right track. Another small question is if the keywords I use are a little similar to my competitors, will the results be affected?

There is no restrictions that you can't target the same keywords your competitors are ranking for. The point here is to do better than your competitors on most of the sectors like on page, site speed, off page SEO-backlinks etc.

A indepth SEO audit will help you find competitors' drawbacks.

in my point of view,Use tools like ubersuggest to find easier keywords related to your client's services; focus on specific, niche terms and experiment with various combinations for better chances of ranking.

You can use Google Keyword planner as well you can ask suggestions from Chat gpt or Bing but the Prompt you use to get the results should be clear only then you will get the suggestions accordingly.

Google understands searches as interprets them semantically.

So to google cab and taxi means the same thing but to you they are different keywords.

They are different words for the same thing. They both derive from the original word for a vehicle for hire, which was taxicab . The word "taxi", coming from the meter that calculates the fare (taximeter ), and "cab" from cabriolet , which originally was a covered horse drawn carriage.

The problem here is your client need to change his service if it's competitive or narrow down, target different vertial and so on.
He is just pushing his problem on to you. Don't fall for it.

To help your client rank better for their services, try finding similar words that are easier. It could make it easier for people to find them online. use paid tools or google keyword planner

SEMRush keyword magic tool is a good one to use. Free option is to go through your search console for ideas as well.

You can go with location-based keywords like roofing contractor in Dallas it will be low competition keyword rather than going for roofing contractor.

Dig into forums, Reddit, or even social media to see how people talk about these services. Tools like AnswerThePublic can show questions people ask, giving you a natural language angle.

To improve ranking, look for long tail keywords. And, you can find low difficulty keywords in keyword research tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahref OR Semrush.

Use keyword research tools to identify alternative keywords such as Semrush, Ahref. Focus on long-tail keywords, local variations, and niche terms to optimize your client's website for better rankings.
