Many questions and thoughts - it went down from up :)

Hi There all,

I got a website which i do websites in sweden, we spend some budget in SEO some google ads some times and some meta ads also.
I have been doing some on-page, offpage, backlinks, reffs from customers on footer.. as much as i can. After 3-4-5 months i ended up on first page on the swedish google, on the word "webbyrå" Which is translated to Web agency in english.

Now, something happened last 30-45 days and from place 5th which i was over a month, i went down again to 30-40-50 and even 90. I dident stop anything i did, i did some changes on front page here and there but nothing big to be honest.
I am trying to find what happened but im out of thoughts really.

The website is w e b g i a n t . s e - the SEO i do for our customers is going flawless.

Major things i think might have disturbed: I made a referal page and linked 10-20 customers from our site to their site (so they got a free backlink)
Minor things i think might have disturbed: i made small changes on front page on some content, but after that i put in some new content also which i think is more unique.
Other minor things: I deleted some posts i had since they probably did canibalizing with the Keyword on frontpage.

does this happen to anyone else? havent happened to any of our customers so far. and we pretty much have similar backlinks.

Other wierd stuff: Google is starting to rank me page 2-3 on other keywords which dident happen before, kw i havent put any H1 on but clearly random, that are also based on the companies "we do this too" things.

Adding several backlinks quickly or altering on-page content, even slightly, can shake things up. Also, deleting posts might have impacted your keyword strategy. Check for any recent algorithm updates too, they can really shuffle the rankings.

might have been that i added somebacklinks tofast, what is good then? To stop for a month or two or?

From your backlinks profile, it seems you haven't done much offpage SEO other than footer links?

I think sudden changes to your homepage nd deleting posts might have affected your site. You might have done all in one time which may affect the ranking. Other than these i don't see a problem here in my knowledge.

Since it's not mentioned yet, there was a major core update a couple of months ago (November) and your website might got hit,
It's a good time to reanalyze the current top performing pages/websites and make the changes to match these,
Anything including the on/off page as a whole, it's not a simple task as used to be,

You need to pay more attention to every little detail nowadays,
And be patient, things will take some time, up to the next core update

You have to do quality backlinks from all regions and you have to split the keywords with good Kw ratio

Since it's not mentioned yet, there was a major core update a couple of months ago (November) and your website might got hit,
It's a good time to reanalyze the current top performing pages/websites and make the changes to match these,
Anything including the on/off page as a whole, it's not a simple task as used to be,

You need to pay more attention to every little detail nowadays,
And be patient, things will take some time, up to the next core update

Actually in november i was in top 5, it was middle of december about or begining of dec that i started to go downwards. And yeah i did changes that might have affected, just dident think it would affect THAT much. :|

Aha, i thought only Swedish Backlinks will help a site that is .se and wants to rank on .se google

If you focus on other regions a little you can get visitors from there

So it will be effective too

If you think something went wrong, try reversing the same. Also, it's not necessary that some updates affect the sites immediately after it's done. Sometimes it may take time. My view though.

Yes i thought about that, that it might felt lilke it was the changes, but might be something that actually i did before that.

According to google it started in Nov 1 and took 25 days to roll out,
But well, you never know, especially for foreign Google versions, usually takes longer
