Does any one if how can we get Breakdance for bit cheap considering they are offering $99/year for a single site license. Moreover, lets say you have made your site using a single license and the following year you no longer subscribe to the plan will the site still work?

Ofcourse not, you will not get updates, site can breake and can get hacked anytime.

Boy do I need to start listening to RoiBox and TattooedBuddha more, Breakdance seems to have pushed v. far up-hill

I don't, as they have templates but it says even then you do require Pro plugin.

You can find very cheap it in most GPL sites nowadays. Even the 1.7.0 version that I believe is one of the latest. If you plan to use it in more than one site, you can also buy just the 1 site license and work you way through the licensing system, which generally is not very sophisticated, to install it in the rest of the sites with full features.
