I thought it might be a good idea to make an official thread where people can post their site and ask how much it's worth. This way we have one large thread and not a bunch of post around the board.

Just as a preface - valuing sites isn't easy, you can apply a standard multiple of traffic revenue but there are a number of ambiguous and qualititative calculations too, and at the end of the day, it is all about having the right person see your site so you can get a premium.

Anyway, good idea to have them all in one thread so fire away:

Yes, keep the junk together. Valuation requests are largely junk - mostly idiots with a worthless site getting replies from other idiots who don't know anything about valuing anyway. Or worse
a) they pretend to know how to value sites and peddle nonsense they've heard somewhere else about a site being worth 5x or 12x or 100x or some arbitrary figure
b) they recommend some valuation website where another idiot has thrown up a free valuation script that picks a random number

There is no such thing as a fixed value for a site. Owners think their site is worth millions, others here come up with $5 or $50,000. None of those opinions matter. It's only when a site is put up for sale that the real value can be ascertained from competitive bidding i.e. real people, real money. Till then we're not talking value, we are talking random and worthless numbers.

It doesn't hurt to give an opinion or personal valuation based on previous sales or even current market valuations. I just believe in keeping them realistic and to the bare minimum. My only problem is when people ask "give me an exact value". That's an impossibility.

You won't get much on flippa or dp honestly. You have low traffic, no revenue, and your domains have hyphens in it (extremely unappealing to buyers/branders). I would say 20 - 40$ for both sites together and that's being optimistic.

ok i have a couple sites i'd like an opinion about - im thinking about selling them on flippa

One is a Domain, and one is a Full Site:

GoogleTrafficTricks.com - currently forwarding to some crappy clickbank product

NyWheelz.com - a automotive classifieds website that is automated. It pulls listings from craigslist and auctions from eBay, videos from youtube, and a buncha other stuff - and is still a work in progress.

How much do you think the domain Google Traffic Tricks is worth, and this website that will be complete in a few months.

Don't sell domains on Flippa - if you think that your domain name is worth something then list it with popular domain marketplaces e.g. Sedo, Afternic, etc. As for GoogleTrafficTricks I wouldn't get my hopes up too high if I were you - you won't get much for it unless you build something on it (as a sidenote - it would make a hell of a name for an SEO-related infoproduct!)

2. Websites without traffic/revenue are seldom worth more than a few (hundred) bucks. Give us more information about your site and we may be able to help you more. By the way, the prices of turnkey autoblogs have dropped drastically during the last couple of months - there's simply way too many people around who create 5-10 autoblogs a day in hopes of flipping them right away so your best bet is probably to get the site to show steady traffic/revenue and only then think about selling it (or decide to keep it).

Thanks for your response... I was thinking about doing a info product on the google traffic tricks web site....

As for the NyWheelz site, I think that its possible someone might want it as an auto blog because its more than just an auto blog... here are its features... let me know what you think... im thinking down the road, someone might buy it for some big bucks, but who knows....

Here are the capabilities as of now... keep in mind that its a Automotive Classifieds / Auctions based website for the state of new york.

- It takes listings directly from craigslist, and posts them in their specific cities. Uses Adsense at the top of each listing.

- It takes eBay listings (Ebay Partner Network) and posts individual pages for each listing, and deletes automatically after 7-10 days. Ofcourse, the page is laced with Adsense Ads.

-It automatically takes automotive review videos, and other car related videos from youtube, and each video has its own page that is nicely formatted with some Adsense ads.

-Users can submit classified ads (currently disabled for updates at the moment) - Dealers can submit different formatted classified ads, and pay for front page featured classified ads (will enable this in the future when real traffic comes in)

-Twitter Wheelz - a specific page for people who want to get notified of certain cars for sale in their city (still adding accounts to the list)

-Trade Lease - an affiliate program through some lease trade program on CJ.com that lets users trade their lease or some shit. Those listings are available and updated automatically.

and a buncha other stuff that is in the half done stage.

I forgot to add, that each section is linked multiple times to twitter acounts.. So every hour, new updates are posted to quite a few twitter accounts for traffic.

NO way someone is going to sell you a site for 10x its monthly revenue. In ten months you will have your money back and after that you are just banking basically forever. Who would be stupid to sell at that rate. At the minimum I would say 3 years or 36x monthly revenue.
