Restore/Ban hacked account

Hi bhw fam,

One of my friends recently got caught in one of those instagram email scams, his account got stolen, they somehow managed to change his pass, email and phone number on the account.

1st question: Is there a way for him to actually get it back now that they changed everything?

2nd question: If he can't get it back is there a service that bans account or a good method to get accounts banned?

The only way to recover the account is to have access to the email, if your friend also lost the email, the main one of the account (the creation one) can no longer do anything.

By requesting Instagram you can recover it if the profile has photos of that person, but if it is a profile that does not have photos of him, you cannot recover it either. Does the profile that has been removed have photos of him right now

Both emails and the phone number is gone.... The only goal now is to get the old account banned, the profile picture is of my friend so I believe that helps from what I hear, what are the next steps?

You can't block it friend, unless a lot of people report the account, then they can close it

unfortunately meta only has humans to look at celebrities and top 5% of accounts. Everything else is done with ai and unfortunately there are TONS of bugs in this process. So unless your friend is a celebrity or a top ig account there is absolutely no way to get employees human eyes to look at the account. As far as getting them banned if you can trick them into saying something antisemetic or a negative comment about israel then take a screenshot they will definitely get banned

The only option you are left with is to reach out to the support and register a complaint that your account has been hacked. They might ask for all the necessary information for verification. There could be some chances that you can get back your account. Best of luck.
