Two questions for a newbie

Im new to SEO, so hear me out

I have 2 questions my first is,

1. When commenting on auto approved blogs, how long should I wait before my backlink actually gets indexed so that when I check it on a backlink checker such as iwebtool that it appears as a backlink for my website.



2. My second is, when Im making web 2.0 sites, and then simply posting an article then a link to my main website. Do I need to do anything else? Or since these are web 2.0 sites they often get spidered so I just post the article and my link and wait for the link to get indexed?

The answer to both is pinging and bookmarking the page that has the link to your site, this way the links get indexed faster and you get to see results faster.

If you can write interesting articles that attract a lot of hits it will be found faster. I sometimes even write about topics that have nothing to do about my website simply because of the traffic an interesting topic can generate. If you do this though make sure you don't use unrelated anchor text in the link back to your site.
