Ranked 12th and need to be top 5

I am slowly climbing and thing in 2-3 months i can be top 5 on mulitple keywords. I had to rebrand during the slow season because my domain name was a keyword. I am guilty of updating my content too much and wondering how often do yall update content for freshenss. I probably lose ranking last year doing it to much.

once a year is enough if it's not content that needs constant updates.

To go higher in the SERPs you usually need better authority (backlinks) and better topical authority / content than your competitors. But which one of these you need more of it's hard to say, it's best to analyze your top 1-3 competitors and see what they do better than you and fix it

Try to generate more traffic by writing your content semantically with a greater number of keywords; it will have a positive impact on your ranking.

I will try, i been chasing backlinks by calling non compete niche site with low success but there is some.

Don't be guilty. Calmly update your content once in a year or if you find its necessary.

For ranking top, try using keywords in your content and build the high quality backlink in my opinion.

My biggest issue is always backlinks. I can only really get them via phone call then that is hit or miss. The site is classified adult but I can have a GMB for it so not porn or escort. Per past experience I only get links from similar who are not openly selling links and keep it all same niche or general idea. I called 4 people yesterday and one was successful as example.

Keep trying with the additional content but do not try to optimize so much,
you will get ranked in few months without doing anything
