Lets say you wanted to install a fresh vBulletin forum on one of your sites, and you knew all the different forum categories you were going to lay out for it... but you really need content to get user registrations and their content.

I'm saying, imagine if you showed up at BHW and all the forum titles were there but none of them had posts going, you'd quickly bounce to your next option instead of staying and registering...

So my question is, is there a tool of some sort that will fill your forum with starter content/posts automatically?

Do you mean something like what "Forum Generator" does? Outside of that product, I don't know of anything off hand.

Forum Generator is for phpBB I think but yes you are right that is the tool you need to autofill a forum.

Check is harro's money making thread for the fake forum thread. It should be there.

Hi,
I used this tool http://www.forumpostrobot.com/ a couple of months back to create a few forums. What it does is scrape Yahoo answers and loads the thread into your forum.

Here's an example of a "fake forum" I built using it http://drum-tube.com/forums/index.php

I think it works on ALL the major forum platforms.

No I don't own this software and I'm not plugging it for a buddy. But it is something else.

Good Luck!

I don't, but they'll give you a 7 day trial. I go 2 forums up and running in that time. This comes in handy as people hate to post on sires that aren't established.

I did some searching and found two products that do this. One is called Jetconvo 2.0 and the other is called Instadigi. Hope that helps.

I'm using forum post robot, it works fine. before, I tried instadigi, it did not work.

Their site now states a 7 day refund policy, not a 7 day trial.

Festeris, I just gave you a great big thanks for suggesting "Forum Post Robot" as a solution to my question in the OP. Even though they stopped giving out the trial, it claimed to do what I needed to, so I went out on a limb and I bought it. It is HOT SHIT! I had a vBulletin forum getting traffic for months, but no one was joining because I just couldn't post enough content to draw people in. I had forum post robot running for an hour last night, and my forum is stacked with posts, all in the right categories, and i'm already starting to get legit sign-ups today.

Glad to help! The funny thing about this program is that not too many people know about it? That company also has some other programs as well that I was looking at, but I can't remember what they were. :D
