If your channel got demonetized for breaking whatever guidelines and someone Content ID copyright claims the videos and ads show up who gets the money? The claimant, Youtube or nobody? if nobody then why ads show up?

Nobody gets the money bro.

You already gave the answer.

Youtube has all the rights to take money and show ads, and even trick you if you really want to know.

By trick, I mean they can legally use Content ID in their favor.

If you turn off ads by youtube in settings, then if there is no content ID claim, ads should be off.

If there is Content ID claim by 3rd party, they get the money.

But you are in their house, under their rules. It can be anything they want in the end.

Why would they show ads if nobody gets the money? Nobody includes Youtube themselves.

An advertiser already paid YouTube the money to place the ad on your video. Obviously they, YouTube, keeps the money.

When your channel is monetized, they share half with you.

It was a joke mate.

Read my message again.
So your answer was that they get the money? (the claimant). And YouTube does not get a cut from that? YT said this is not true because if you aren't a partner they cannot get any money even if ads show up.

But no ads were showing because its demonetized, only when some scammers Content ID'd some of the videos ads started showing, I figured out it was because of this, because on the non claimed ones there are no ads. So who the hell is getting the money from these ads? Still not clear to me. According to YT, nobody is getting the money, the way I understood is that they also don't get this money? So what's the deal? Ads showing for free? does not make sense.

Wait, I read your message again. So in order for ads to show, they already paid YT. So YT basically lied? So ads continue to show, these ads don't generate revenue for anybody? if they continue to show, then the advertisers continue to pay YT in order to show up in there isn't it? is this paid per ad or per campaign or how does this work exactly? And why the scammers that Content ID'd the videos drop the claims if they see they are not getting any cut from this? They dropped claims from some videos for some reason but left the other running till this day. Since im not even monetized im not in a hurry but this is actually annoying.

YouTube is not just gonna burn the 55% that would be destined to someones youtube channel, or the percentage that would be destined to the claimant of a copyright.
Obviously they keep the money.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it, unless your plotting to sue them or something.

If they demonetized your channel, just delete everything and start again.

Why would I want to delete everything? that would kill the channel, you might start a new channel if you do that. I have seen other people recover monetization without resorting to deleting everything, it just takes luck or contacts inside youtube that tell you what the fuck is actually wrong in order to fix it.

About the other thing, how do you know they keep the money? this is very frustrating man. I feel like im being scammed by both youtube and the claimants.

o_O I don't like your irrational obsession with who gets YouTube's monetization money and your aggressiveness, this conversation is over. :suspicious:

It is only rational to be pissed off at how people leech off from your work while you get accused of this content not being allowed to run ads.

You'll get over it.

My channel got demonetized because Youtube's system (and later YT's human reviewers) detected my content as being AI generated and/or repetitive content...

...which is BS because I edited every single video on my own: Script, Audio, B-roll, Thumbnail

This happened October 2022, when I had 80+ videos at 9K subs... I left the videos up for a while which grew my audience to 11.6K subs.

I finally deleted all the videos from the channel on June 2023 or so... and moved the 80+ videos to FaceBook.

I uploaded to YT again last week and got 1K views the first day... not too bad i guess...

Will try to apply for monetization once I reach the 4K public watch time hours.

just turn off the ads in settings.
That does not solve the fact that they claimed my videos, if I get monetized again I would need to dispute, but that involves telling your personal details to scammers unless you lawyer up.

I don't think so tbh. This happened like a year ago and it still hurts like the first day. All my work put into the trash because of some bullshit, and now it turns out the videos run ads if someone Content IDs this. I still do not understand why the claimant does not drop the claims if they are not making any money. Why risk it? they would obviously lose in court since I have full rights to the videos. And why does YT lie claiming no one makes money from running these ads? I certainly don't and I made the videos, so I would be the one that should be getting the money in any case. Whole thing is a scam.

Who knows, maybe after all this time if I reapply they will accept me? I never even bothered reapplying because chances are they will reject me since I did not made any changes except changing a bit video descriptions and titles, but I doubt that did the trick. On this niche I saw a few that got monetized again, but it was probably luck or contacts. The rest got their channels fucked up with further deleted videos everytime they reapplied. A few deleted the entire collection, and managed to monetize again when they reached the 4000 watchtime hours, but their channels are wrecked and get no views anymore.

Perhaps the videos where they dropped the claims from are the ones that aren't suitable for ads? they may have seen they got no money and dropped them? just a theory, but again, YT claims a claimant can't make money from a non partnered channel so I don't get it.

Lol! Youtube can do anything, it's their platform.

I have a two old video from 7years ago I uploaded to YouTube. The channel isn't monetized and YouTube still show ads on the video.
