Yoast free is a joke. Rank Math screws your sitemaps and inner pages (i.e. forum posts).

I don't do caching on WP any more. All caching happens at the edges, it's about 100x faster than caching via plugin. Only the first access is slow, the rest are miliseconds fast

Yes, I was expecting this argument, although I always felt Cloudflare is insufficient for certain aspects. With Cloudflare you can take care of 50% of them, but you still have to leave 50% on the air.

If you don't care at all about WPO then either CF or a WPO plugin will do the cut. But if you care, CF is insufficient. For me, CF is like the lazy option when I don't want to make something special.

Still I have to say that only with WP and CF I can't see how you can tweak many head parameters without further coding. For example, some as simple as metas. If I wanted to go full minimalistic on SEO, I would at least install Slim SEO plugin that is like the basic barebone (metas, a nice sitemap, breadcrumbs) all in 150 KB, pretty clutch for what could be needed in this regard.
