Channel location shouldn't affect channel audience, what effects channel audience is mostly based on the language of the video uploaded, if you upload videos in English, mostly English speaking audience are going to watch it, also depends on what your title is, for example if you make a video in English, about "How you went to India", then mostly Indians could watch it and a little bit of Americans, however if you want to attract a specific audience, upload videos on that audience interest, you can search via google trends, "mostly searched keywords in America, or any other specific country

yes it effects audience becuase social media use ip to track the right audience for your content so if you are using vpn or vps to target a certain location go for it! goodluck

On YouTube, the US proxy is not needed. Focus on the keywords and language to target the right audiences.

Of course it matters. Most of the cases, it will eb shown to people from same country. But it does not target to state or area. So you can target entire country being from any state.

I have literally made an experiment where I made a fresh channel and did not use proxies on purpose.

It is one of the metrics which decided which people the channel will be shown to. But if you can make content which is suitable for any other location audience, it can still rank there. There are other factors involved as well and thus one factor will not determine ranking in particular location.
