If you don't know what a safelist is read this

Code:
A safelist is a form of e-mail marketing and advertising where the members have agreed to receive each other?s messages. Usually, the safelist administration reserves the right to mail its' members. Types of safelists include paid, credit based, and free.

Let's make a list of safelists for everybody to use. I'll start:

Code:

http://www.elist-hosting.net/cgi-bin/3dcashmachine.cgi?index

http://www.elist-hosting.net/cgi-bin/MyCashLine.cgi?index

http://www.elist-hosting.net/cgi-bin/Expose.cgi?index

http://www.bepaidcash.net/cgi-bin/bpcbasic.cgi?safelist

http://www.elist-hosting.net/cgi-bin/BravoList.cgi?index

http://adtactics.com/

Add some as you wish

When it says "agreed to receive each other's messages," what does it mean? I read the definition and all, and I did a little Googling, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the usability of such things.

yes, they are all opt in. But everyone that joins agrees to get their email sent to everyone as well as getting others emails sent to them. This is why you should register a new email address to sign up for them. Some allow you to pay so you won't receive any emails from others.

I tried the safelist thing back when I first got started. You won't have a spam complaint problem, because no one is going to read what you send. Everyone who signs up to these safelists does so in order to send their stuff out, but no one reads what is sent to them.

Good luck with it, I hope it works out for you.

But don't get your hopes up.

Some are credits based so you have to read emails to send more emails. That eliminates the problem. I know the adtactics one is like that.

This might not be such a bad idea, though, if you're able to harvest the addresses from them.

They might be dead leads, but if you have a list that makes you money, but complains too much, you can send all these at once (from like a GR or AWeber) and it will drive your spam complaints WAY down. You just have to make sure that you're making enough to cover the additional cost of sending to them.

For example: If I am sending to a list of 10K that do purchase, but also complain at a rate of 0.4%, then I am at risk for having my AR account closed. However, if I can figure out a way to import 30K of these kinds of leads, then I won't be losing buyers, and I will be paying more to send out, but my complaints will be down to 0.1%, which is acceptable for places like AWeber.

Okay, guys...

Safelists do work but the return rate on them anymore is a lessthan 3% open rate and if yo udo get the attention of the list, you are going to be ban in a heart beat if you are pushing junk. I know, I constantly use these things for many promotions, as they do gain you respect over time.

People get to know you and then find you are on the list with them, using that to their advantage of keeping intouch with you through their promotions crossing back over. This will allow you SOME slim profitability but for the most part, this is all rookie/noob junk mail in these things and no one buys. It is where the guru get people to join their lists by giving away wornout ebooks and products, to lead them into a bigger funnel for their major programs down the line.

If you want to spend about a year or more with legitimate offers, cool. However, you will be ignored and banned with ad page crap...these people are used and numb to it.

Just fyi.
