That is the end goal for many, including me.
Being a webmaster of various projects is a good choice for me. Have to put in a crapton of work into it, but if done right - once everything is setup and optimized for efficiency, it can be achieved.

No, haven't tried it yet, but have plans to do in the future.
I always try to build assets that can generate passive income...
Used to own several website that share digital stuff for free (wp themes, plugins, logo, banner, etc)
I made the initial resources myself, yes it took lots and lots of hard work in the beginning.
But once the site gain traction, there are user submissions...
Since earlier this year, I learn forex trading, build a system and turn it into expert advisor (bot) to automate it.
It's not perfect yet, still trying to improve on better exit, but overall it's working and definitely passive...

Opportunities for passive income have reduced now. Even with regular daily hard work, it is hard to make online projects profitable. So, do not expect a lot in the form of passive income. Like, earlier if you ranked blog, you can enjoy earnings for long time. But now there are updates every month.
