He's a young Jr. developer studying computer science. His only work experience is creating a WordPress site for himself. He basically made a blog and optimized it with SEO. It wasn't successful because its content was too generic and its technical quality was low.

He lives in a war-torn country and wants to leave. He needs money, but more than that, he says he needs experience and is seeking a work visa to avoid scammers at the borders.

You want to help and give him work, but you don't have any projects.

You see more than just money in him. You see a potential friend, a companion, someone to join forces with and build something.

What would you do? What project would you start?

However, it can give him experience and money, helping him to live and get a work faster.

So, I would like a good idea that could escalate well. Our advantages are that we are two people and we don't need revenue yet.

Well I would see what he's visa says so I know how to separate him or her from returning home in my dungeon pit with a bed and fridge.

They must code all nite, or play video games and get that content up.

Also, if he wants to learn in a specific field, what holds him back to just start? All information available on the internet for free. Why would he want to work for someone for free, if he could just start on his own any time of the day?

He has some knowledge about SEO. At least he read lot of Google's articles.
And has some general knowledge about businesses.
He is studying programming, so he isn't good yet.
But it's all about mindset. He knows he has no experience, so he want to learn.
Like I said, he thinks he isn't prepared to do a project on his own, so he prefers being spoon-fed

But why would I start from scratch when I can hire a junior or senior that require a lot less hand holding?

Those who want to work for free have zero experience, and I don't think that explaining the absolute basics is a good use of my time. I hired interns before, it was great fun, but it wasn't a smart business move.

How are you sure that he isn't just after the work visa just to get into the country and skip?
From what you have said, he has no skills, so he would probably not qualify for a visa.
I get contacted on every platform by people asking for jobs and sponsorship, I avoid them like the plague.
You can't help everybody and unless they can bring value to your business, they have nothing to offer.
You can find people in your own country with no skills if you want to train people.
If you feel guilty, then donate to charity/the red cross etc
