Hi Readers,

I own a website (URL: https://www.solidappmaker.com/) and is working on it since last one year.

I am doing link building on this website since last one year. When checking aHrefs, I found that the backlinks count has significantly increased in last one year. However, the number of keywords ranked is only 1. My entire one year efforts are going into veins.

I checked the website in aHrefs and httpstatus io - Here my website is showing 403 error. However, I also checked on Webfx Http Status Code Checker and a few other website where it shows 200 OK.

I have also worked with the development team to clean the website and reinstall the website copy in the AWS. Still I am not getting any uplift in the organic searches.

History of Website: Let me give you a quick details about the website history. 2 Years back, the website was attacked by the hacker and tons of spam pages were created (nearly 50K). Due to this, the website was penalized in the past. However, Soon, the website was cleaned and resubmitted for manual check. It passed the manual check and was ready for crawling.

Check the Image above. The spam links were initially 60K. With time, nearly 25K is left right now. I have checked entire website and ensure no spam URLs are being created.

Check the image below. I am also getting impressions, but not ranking.

Can you please help me resolve this issue so that my website can start getting rankings back?

The major trouble I am facing in this website is:

Question 1- Why the website is not getting any positive ranking fluctuations after getting hike in links count?
Question 2- Why some tools are still showing 403 error when other tools are showing 200 OK?
Question 3- How much time Google algorithm will take to remove all 25K URLs (404 Pages) which were once spam URLs?
Question 4- What should I do to start scaling its number of keywords in search results?

Looking for a valid and effective responses.

Are your backlinks from authority sites and not from some spam blogs/ low quality pbns?

No, I am not working on PBNs. I focus on Business Listing and Guest Posting only.
However, the major confusion that I have in mind is that I started the website with only 2-3 pages and today it has nearly 20 Pages. After crawling, some keywords should be in the SERP (no matter in 50+ ) ranking. But even after working for a year, only 1 keyword is in SERP.

You need to act and think differently cause this method ain't working always

OK. What are your thoughts about this:

I have created landing pages (seo-related webpages) on one other website and it is showing impressions & clicks in search console and tools like ahrefs.

I just checked and it shows 4 ref domains & 11 backlinks in ahrefs.

Looks like you get the wrong stats. Here I am sharing the stats from aHrefs. Please check and share your inputs.

The number of referring domains and backlinks have grown with time. But the problem is same.

- 403 Error
- No Keyword cluster in search results.

It doesn't matter whether the keywords are ranking or not. But at least they should appear somewhere in the SERP.

Looks like you get the wrong stats.
It's not wrong stats it's because I checked the www version that you mentioned in OP.

After some digging, I found this on Bing search: https://atonce.com/blog/how-to-fix-403-errors-viewed-from-ahrefs#:~:text=To%20fix%20a%20403%20error%20when%20viewed%20from,address%20is%20not%20blocked%20by%20the%20server.%203.

So, this 403 error is most likely linked to your server not allowing Ahrefs crawler bots or restricting them in some way.

I tried your website in my SEMrush free account and found you are ranking for 10 keywords in the USA.

I also checked in Serpstat and it gave more keywords for different regions the below screenshot only show a few I have access to:

According to Serpstat you are ranking for something in almost every country.

So, The issue is somewhere between your server and Ahrefs.
I would suggest do a backlink audit and a content audit to improve your ranking results.

Ranking wise you are ranking and driving some traffic as per SEMrush and Serpstat.

I also see you have Tag manager script on your website.
What does GA and GSC say?

Question 1- Why the website is not getting any positive ranking fluctuations after getting hike in links count?
It does. You can clearly see you are driving impressions, and getting them. Just api integration system alone has 206.000.000 results, this niche is really hard - and you are not targetting anything specifically to increase your authority. You are just either writing for big keywords, or you are writing a commercial blog for yourself. Dont expect your product pages to rank in this niche, without E-A-T.

Question 2- Why some tools are still showing 403 error when other tools are showing 200 OK?
Again, dont use 3rd party tools for your own sites. Use search console and assess from there.

Question 3- How much time Google algorithm will take to remove all 25K URLs (404 Pages) which were once spam URLs?
404 Pages are bad for SEO. And a really good way of negative SEO somebody too (buy backlinks to their 404s ;)" - but we dont know. You probably dont have a high crawl priority so if I would guessed its months in plural.

Question 4- What should I do to start scaling its number of keywords in search results?
Write fucking optimized content.

https://solidappmaker.com/a-step-by-step-guide-of-building-a-full-stack-app-from-scratch/
How to build a full stack app?

Step 1
A) Link to article that goes in depth with this tip.

Step 2
B) Link to article that goes in depth with this tip.

Step 3
C) Link to article that goes in depth with this tip.

Now with article A, if its relevant and good for the user you can link to the other articles or just keep linking up to build a full stack app.

Now, how could this look?
(Article) https://solidappmaker.com/making-full-stack-app/

A) https://solidappmaker.com/making-full-stack-app/front-end

B) https://solidappmaker.com/making-full-stack-app/back-end

C) https://solidappmaker.com/making-full-stack-app/integrations

Now you could link integrations and back end, and still link up to to the main article. Are we done? No.

You could make another page, named

https://solidappmaker.com/guides
In there you could link to making of full stack app, and you can add for guides to build a website. And when you have your content universe clear and consice, you can start linking from them from your service pages and up to your services pages. This will increase crawling efficiency, and also leads to removal of your 404 pages in shorter time. And maybe then, you can start link building a couple of authority backlinks. :)

Please dont steal structure of "hootsuite" which are insanely authoritive. Be smart and just structure your website, and then you will start to rank for these keywords.

Ps, sorry english is not my first language

Thanks for this great and valuable information. This brings my moral a bit higher than yesterday.
Above all, thanks for this amazing content strategy. I will start working on them..
Kudos to your support.

Number of backlinks alone does not determine the rankings. Quality of the backlinks also matters.
