Exclusive BHW - My Twisted Autoblog Method - Complete Video Series

Started my autoblog yesterday using this method. I've only been able to set up HALF of it so far. Haven't even BEGUN to start with twitter and these are my stats already.

Very happy so far. Thanks!

If you don't check the box in StatPress Options labeled "Do not collect spiders visits", the spiders will inflate your visits and pageviews. IMO, the numbers are completely useless otherwise.

Even doing this I think the numbers are not accurate representation of the actual visitors. One of my newer shezblogs has a twitter account with just 350 followers so far. My URL shortener tracking shows one day I had 120 clicks on the tweeted URLs. Statpress shows 91 visitors/195 pageviews for the day and Google analytics show 18 visitors/30 pageviews. Then Amazon throws a headscratcher...reporting a whopping 598 clicks!? Which is accurate?

This is like a man with two watches...he never knows what time it is.

Hi guys!
I have a question regarding amazon.com: I recently tried joining their affliate program with one of my domains (the domain name included a trademark). However they declined my application with a following email:

Thanks for your application to the Amazon Associates Program.

When you filled out our online application form, you listed the URL for your web site as:

We do not allow the use of URLs that include trademarked words. This includes variations or misspellings of any trademarked words. Therefore, we are unable to accept your application. Please review our Operating Agreement for further details:"
Have you guys had any problems with Amazon.com with the domains including trademarks? Should I just use another domain for my application and add the trademarked domain later?

The funny thing is that amazon.co.uk accepted my application - even though the domain was the same!

First post, btw. ;)

Just reapply to Amazon.com with a diff URL - don't worry about having to change any of your other details, just change the URL to one that doesn't use a trademark name.

Thanks for your reply! I have already reapplied to amazon.com. I guess their TOS or whatever it's called doesn't permit using domains that include a trademark or two.

Once you've been approved to the program have you had any problems with using amazon.com adds on your domains that have a trademark? Is there any additional steps that need to be taken if I want to use a trademarked domain with amazon.com?

I've never had any further probs even though I create subdomains that use trademark names. It seems that Amazon just had a prob initially with the URL that you apply with. I have Amazon on 99% of my SehzBlogs and most of those have a trademark name in the domain - so from this I would say that you shouldn't have any further issues down the line with Amazon regarding this.

shezboy, wats your take on adding followers? My first day was a very bad day. I had a total of 4 followers. Two of them IM. I am following 65 odd ppl.

Do you subscribe to the theory of Twitter Snobbery? Following too many but not being followed by many putting newer ppl off ?

I would suggest that Google Analytics is accurate.

From what I personally understand of statspress / URL shorteners and Amazon is that they don't do a really good job of figuring out which clicks are spiders or bots - the reason for the inflated clicks.

From my personal experience (just anecdote, no stats to backup), with new sites posting to twitter, seams amazon gets even more inflated as 1 click coming in from twitter can mean 5-20 other clicks around on the site, resulting in the even higher amazon

GA does a great job of filtering who's real and who's a bot.

I've personally been struggling with finding a decent analytics alternative to Google.

I have some very whitehat sites that I like to keep very very very very distant from my blackhat sites.

I'm thinking of loading GA with a separate browser (ie Opera) and only connecting to it via tethered cell (so quick way to leave no cookies or ip signature) - looking for feedback on how well this would work.

I think Twitter snobbery is alive and well for sure. A few posts back another member mentioned that they target an IM niche on Twitter as most IM related Twitter accounts are set to autofollow back. He said he targets those types of Twitter accounts to get a fast follow back of 1,000 - after that point he switches tact and then focuses on following people in the niche that he's focusing on.

That is a great idea and works - kudos that man :D

Thanks Shezboy, the kudos is appreciated. Kudos to you putting the video series together - good "head turning" series that helps connect two powerful concepts.

That method you mentioned helped me with getting over the initial "twitter snobbery hump"

I've slightly adjusted the method since the last post, here's a full checklist (for someone starting this method from 0 twitter followers):

- Open and configure Twitter Account
- Complete the blog exactly as listed in the videos
- Have blog posting through to the twitter account via Twitter Tools
- Find 1000 "auto followers" - these are NOT used to sell anything to, just to make the account appear "more credible" by having a decent follower base - this can be done (all using tweetattacks - well worth the $$) by:
1) searching for people talking about topics like IM, Social Media, Twitter Followers, making money, ****************, refollow, retweet. Can be found through twitter search or wefollow topics.
2) Following the "follower list" of accounts that have high levels of "auto follow" followers (you can find these with a little bit of work - as a complete giveaway, a quick obvious tip of one account that has tons of "refollow followers" starts with "so" and end with "cialoomph")
3) Following the "following list" of the IM / money making / social media / refollow twitter-spammy type accounts that have 1,000 + followers and an approximately equal level of following and followers (as these are likely accounts that have both "auto follow" and "unfollow those who don't follow you back" on)
- Once 1000 "auto followers" is reached, slowly pare down the list so that there is about an equal level of followers and followed
- Turn auto follow off and start to look for "niche related" people to follow, and fully follow the method in the videos - other people will find you through mentions, etc. (your twitter coolness level goes up exponentially when you have an account that has significantly more people following you than you're following)

Thanks again for the thread, been working well for me.

I've already set up a few shezblogs but I'm experiencing a serious problem: WP Robot seems to not be autoposting. Don't know what's the problem. It will post if I force it to, but not automatically.

Is there a red exclamation mark next to the fields? If so, that means that the robot has gone through all available listings, content, etc. for that keyword (or, probably more acurately, it THINKS it has). That would be the reason why it's not posting. IF this is the case, the easiest way to remedy it would be to hit the reset button. In 2.11, it's in the right half of the section located just below the keyword box.

I seem to have had a conflict with another plugin called "Delete Duplicate Posts". Due to this plugin it showed that the next posting time would have been 01/1/1970 00:00:00.

Dang, I would have never guessed - glad I was scrolling through WP robot support forum.

Be sure to DISABLE the "Delete Duplicate Posts" plugin if you want WP robot to post automatically. Just my 2 cents. :)
Even after disabling the plugin you have to edit the already added tags so that the "Next post" -time changes.

Do you do this in WPRobot options or within the database. I have edited the keyword (changed positng frequency) but still it has remained at same time in the "next posting time" section. I can only get it to change if I completely delete the keyword and start again for each one......

It is in the WP Robot settings. Go to each keyword, click edit, don't actually change anything, then click save - leave it for three or four hours and WP Robot should correct itself - it is that plugin which has caused this issue.

This problem was highlighted some time ago in this thread but due to it being so long now people don't have the time to read it all (which is fair enough) and will skip looking for the answers and will now just ask the same questions which have already been answered here.

Maybe there is too much info and too many questions for one thread to be able to deal with this efficiently?

Hi Shez,
I dont have that plugin but I have 4 sites that stopped auto posting and 3 sites that have continued posting. They all have the same plugins so thats why I am a bit stuck. I have disbaled all the plugins except WpRobot and Twitter tools. I will try what you say now about just saving again the keywords and wait for the times to change. The thread is huge and I read it and the Tweet Attacks one every day but I think I missed that post.

How is your ash cloud up there?......Lovely and sunny down here in the South but still no planes...Crazy !

Started one of these autoblogs a few weeks back and it's making me atleast $2 every day from adsense. I haven't really been working on it or followers so that's not bad considering!

Shez,

A made one of my shezblogs a sports fan site and Im wondering a cpl things:

1. So far i have tried pulling rss feeds right from the teams website using their rss feed with wprobot so that i could get up to the minute info for my tweeter followers but all it does is post the headline and then a one line that says "View full post on (insert team name) news". Is there any way to just get the article to post to my site instead of this link?

2. I am pulling youtube videos but i feel it looks a little wierd pulling updates from the teams website that is up-to-the-minute current, and then posting you tube clips that are older (sometimes get game highlights of a game that was 3-4 years ago). Any suggestions as to how to get you tube vids that are more current? I tried finding a you tube member or fansite that posted daily vids with current info and found one so I tred pulling the rss feed of that you tube site page but it pulls a little thumbnail of the vid, and some description, but no tthe actual video for ppl to watch on my website.

I would love to hear a few suggestions - I read that you did a chi bears website but I think i missed the link to the site (if you ever posted it).

Thanks

@ mdcnet - PM me about this as I don't want post the link to that blog in the main thread

Have you checked what the RSS feed consists of? If it only has the headline then the WP robot can't get the whole post, I guess. You should look for RSS feeds that contain more than just a headline.
