I was trying to do a little research on what backlinks my competitors are building, and I found this site...
In the Semrush backlink profile, I found that I couldn't find 1 single archor or link on the page where it got the backlink.
Could anybody explain why?

There are some people that actually hide their backlinks so competition can't reverse engineer what they do.

Sometimes, some links are created automatically and they automatically disappear. But I don't think those are the real links powering your competitor. Are such links the only ones SEMrush/Ahrefs could show you?

It's hardly the case.

Sometimes SEMRUSH might miss few links, or the links may be marked as "nofollow" as hidden or the tool didn't pickup the links properly

May they blocked third-party crawlers like Ahref and Semrush?

CSS can be used to hide links off page. (outside of browser window).

They probably hide the backlinks semrush and ahrefs can't crawl them and show

its not mandatory for blogs to have a backlinks visible, its possible to hide the link and anchors and in some cases the links will be available in sidebar also, everything depends on blogger and the site

From What i remember there are ways to hide your backlinks from moz and SEMRush, or sometimes It came to my notice if the website is not popular then tools can take time to analyze their backlink profile.

Competitor has created backlinks by placing a link on the images, then check that the competitor has taken the URL of the image in "Anchor and Target URL".

Backlink explorers like Semrush don't always catch every link due to various crawl limitations. It could be because the site with the backlink has a noindex tag, the page is blocked by robots.txt, or the backlink is recently added and not yet indexed. Sometimes, links are also removed but still show in the tool due to delays in updating their database.

I think Competitor have blocked third-party crawlers like Ahref and Semrush not to show their backlinks.

maybe they block from Tool crawlers/hide the links or remove their link

Just deep research maybe they used any other keywords or something else

If backlinks come from low-quality or spammy websites, search engines may not display them. Technical issues with your website or the linking websites may also prevent proper indexing.
