So I live in South Africa and have had this idea of doing virtual house tours as nice side job possibility , as a way to get out of the house more instead of just freelancing on code and stuff .Ive done minor research and looked up people doing tutorials on it and it doesn't seem to be that hard to do the virtual house tour , but I know how these things are, they look easy when someone else is doing it but when you try it , its just way harder .
Ive looked up what equipment you would need to do it and the software and calculated that you would need about a $1500-$3000 investment to properly get you started , ive also thought deeper and having a pretty good website to promote yourself would be a must and since I know how to code I could make the website myself taking inspiration from other good looking personal portfolios other people have.
It just seems like a scary huge investment to me with a high chance of failing , I'm not to sure how much the market interest in South Africa for this would be . I have looked at the prices people are charging for this and it does seem very profitable, to be able to more than your initial investment and given I'm new and solo I could charge less but I'm still not to sure .
Does anyone have any advice on this ? I'm just not sure what to do of if I should take the leap or not .

I'd advise you to first start off by calling/asking around for realtors. Nothing beats free market research from a professional. If they offer virtual tours, ask them if they use a big/small company or if they're creating their own tours. Create a few of the virtual tours as an example then find out if they would be interested in your services. Look up competition pricing so you can give an estimated price and also so you can do things better than them. It never hurts to network...realtors are chocked full of info and if you build a good rapport with a few of them you can really benefit. Hope this helps!

Im sure there are cheaper ways to start by just using your phone and some free/trail software. I would just offer to do it for free and build up your skills and knowledge. Ask smaller restaurants hotels hostels, any small business really. Try doing your own home and friends houses to start to get a few videos to show business. then grow from there.

I can just start off with my iphone and a stand
Since its an iphone 14 pro it can work if it just buy a stand for it and start off like that

Thanks , I will try my hand at contacting a few and asking around

I saw manyof those, they do it by pictures and moving by cliking arrows on the screen with really high definition pictures or 3D models, using unreal engine or blender, an it has a really good market for busy people a quick meating in real time of the house, but you will need to get in contact with the realtors if they accept and you should have a portafolio something they can see and work as a proof of your work but yeah is a really good idea and is profitable if you have the chance.

A good way to create a virtual house tour is to use 360-degree photos or videos. This will allow viewers to get an immersive experience of the house and explore it from different angles. Additionally, you can enhance the experience by adding narration or text descriptions for each room.
