I started Toys Website around 5 years back. Was doing Dropshipping through Aliexpress. Everything was going amazing for couple of years. But since last 1 and half year i don't have even a single order. When i checked, i noticed, Price of toys on Amazon.com is lesser than what i am getting at Aliexpress.

Is there any way i can still survive in this Business?

It's not dead, selling products online will be alive for a long time. You just have to keep up todate people want their product fast these days waiting 2-3 weeks for an item to arrive will turn a lot of people away.

Out of curiosity, can I ask you what payment methods did you accept from customers, except credit card or bank wire? If I understand correctly, you set up a toy site and, as soon as a customer placed an order on it, paying by credit card or bank transfer, you ordered the goods on AliExpress, and the supplier shipped the item directly to the final buyer, without you had to take on both the management and shipping costs of the product, right? I wanted to ask you if you did this whole process as a private individual or if you opened a company with a VAT number. I've always been curious about drop-shipping, but I've never practiced it. Thank you in advance for your answers to my questions, and I'm really sorry for my bad English.

Feels like that, but depends on your geoLocation and item.

If premium 1 of a kind product and you're located in new Zealand no, while this would be the worse case.

If the items generic and you live in new Zealand then yes.

If we are talking about setting up shop and placing a lot of no stock items and the entire business model evolves around arguing with the customer that the item will not take 2 weeks when infact it may take longer.(having to deal with refunds) that also depends as most scammers now flock to YouTube promoting their channel hoping to do brand deals as that's the new trend in the last 3 years.

it's hard to say, it depends on your tenacity, your poverty level, and lastly motivation.

Right! But i am surprised how the people in US can sell the products at price cheaper than aliexpress. Is there any wayout to give them competition.

I accept payment through Credit Card Only. And there was no need to different VAT Number for it. I paid all taxes along with my other income.

Postage is 1$ world wide in Singapore, postage from AliExpress is free to Singapore and Hong Kong and China international, how else do you think America was able to establish the great American capitalist dream making everything cheap.

I'm not saying life in china is easy, by no means is it free from America, new Zealand, Japan, Philippines, Germany, UK, Australia.

That's why the entreprenural push before covid and bitcoin was to be the next silicone valley china bringing In people around the world to pitch a deal with the manufacturer get prototypes done(no regulation and pump and dump)now it's harder to create that opportunity unless you speak Chinese, mandarin, Taiwanese, Singaporean.

Not dead but saturated. If you are looking to make money online, there are many other easier ways with higher ROI.

My main concern is: Suppose i am getting at Toy at $4 on Aliexpress, same toy is available in Amazon.com for $3.75 and same day or next day shipping. Whereas aliexpress will take weeks. It was never like this before. I am wondering, how can people in US selling these chinese produces even cheaper than the cost on Aliexpress?

They have ties to china, Singapore, Hong Kong they can facilitate old style practices before covid and bitcoin era, don't forget these dropahippers have been in business a long time, it's Naive to assume otherwise.

Your best bets to find a country that's tax free, has a tax free state, has a good distribution centre.

I hate looking at Elon musk all the time but moving to Texas allowed him to cut out the tax man in California as Texas has no personal gains tax on things like YouTube channel, private equity however you can offset that through charitable donations or business right offs. The worst state in America is California and new York.

It all depends on your geolocation.

You have answers it yourself. It is so much abused that price on Amazon is less than what you are getting at from source. This means big players are in the market who are buying in bulk from manufacturer at huge discount.

Interesting. So, if I understand correctly, you are a private individual and collect payments directly into your bank account, right? I would have liked to create a similar site, but, beyond a certain threshold of payments, the tax authorities could initiate investigations and require the opening of a VAT number. Beyond the bureaucratic aspects, how do you advertise your site? How do you get traffic? How much is the maximum amount you can earn in a month of work? I know very well that profits are subordinate to turnover. However, I'm just interested in knowing just an accurate estimate of your monthly income.

Facebok feeds are spammed to death, a user sees 50 ads in a span of 15 mins, it's going to be hard to convince him.

they probably are not drop shipping they likely bought wholesale 1000x items. Or they could be lowering the price so no one can make money and get the top spot then will slowly raise the price once they completion has left that niche/item.

Deff not dead. Just need to approach it right.. it's not as easy as before thats for sure.

However with a solid website that makes you look like a brand you'll be fine.

The sad truth is that nowdays 50% of Amazon sellers are from China. They send from China directly to FBA warehouses. This means they can offer very cheap prices and prime shipping. U need products with an USP

In fact, the scariest thing is that the price of temu now is literally killing past sellers
