best cms only for blog post

Any semi professional can hack your wordpress site, the two most important weak leaks are:
your wp-admin url and wp.config.php, a hacker can easy read that file to insert malware in your mysql database.

Note: when a hacker adds malware code (who redirects to spammy websites) based on my experience with clients, all the free malware scan tools not find them.
In the past this happened on one of my clients, I done a deep research of spammy file names, then search each table in mysql manually to find and delete them, hide the wp admin url, activate direction protection- problem solved, client is happy still today and not laugh it was a fiverr seller, but I not gave them mysql access I wonder how this could happen, he modified the free elementor plugin code, maybe through this way the elementor malware code found the way to the mysql database .....

When possible never give a fiverr seller you hired the whole access to your website/ webhosting

When you have this problem and can not find out the names of your malware files, the only chance here you have is to create a new database, clone your website theme and design, graphics, images and text, and import that to a new site with a new database, a hell lot of work.

I bet these expansive cms systems like Sitecore, Wordpress VIP and whatnot, who are used by big giant media news sites, not have this problem.

Best WP protection you can do is:
hide the admin url and have directory protection with user and password (you can activate this in the cpanel).
With that a hacker not knows your real wp-admin url and not have any access to read your wp directories files.

And then after that, you can add a more secure layer to your site ; WAF, Firewall etc, etc, .....

Happy Sunday !
if you turn your wordpress into a static website there's no more wp-admin url and wp.config.php, your static website is completely disconnected from your wordpress backoffice, there's no database connection, and no server to hack, you could put it on a CDN (that's the point ;) )

YOu just have a bunch of html files (no php), displaying html/css/js, that you regenerate each time you make a modification and upload it again on your CDN

Most big sites and media giants have dynamic content, let's say build a site like cnn only on static html, it will not work.
For small local sites yes you can do that, or on a separate domain where you only have heavy text long form content (linking to your main site) with little images, yes you can do that.

Or you must setup a dedicated database to keep your wp php files separate from your website but this is not an easy setup and cost extra money based on traffic ? It looks easy to setup on a server droplet but it's not.

Or write long content and load them up to a aws S3 and rank that content or pdf (does this method work today?)
But when you do blogging or like a magazine, with pure static html you will not go far.
And when you have a dedicated ip, a cdn will make that ip useless. I checked many big sites they all have dedicated ip and not use a cdn.
With dynamic content hide the wp admin url and have directory protection with password is the best you can do in the moment.

My blood pressure monitor cuff is broken after 2 years, nowadays hardly anything has a long lifespan...ufffff.........

Totally, that's why I asked first if it's really just a simple blog or if there's more to it. A ton of blogs are purely static, but they're not interactive, except if it only uses external services called by javascript.

When I said CDN I was thinking about services like Netlify, who act as a CDN but does host your static site and gives you an url (it's up to you to use your own URL)

Is Netlify not a cms system too and for free? How easy it is to use to build a website- like Squarespace?

I don't know how to define Netlify to be honest... but it's not a CMS at all.
I'd say it's a cloud platform with a big focus on frontend.
But now it also does serverless functions and other backend stuffs...

Hi,
i have a blog with 2M/month users. I need to change the CMS. I wanna leave from wordpress and i search for another system.

I need more lightly and more secure software,'couse wordpress with all plugin and other stuff is always under attack and the server need improve every day.

What can i use ?

TY
If you talking about blogging WordPress is the best CMS for that! for security you need to research about that but I suggest you to stay on WordPress

Utilizing various security tools is crucial to safeguard your WordPress site. By avoiding unnecessary plugins, conducting a thorough security audit, and fortifying the admin section, you can steer clear of potential issues. While WordPress is highly effective, it's essential to employ it correctly.

With over 15 years of experience in developing plugins for various CMS, including WordPress, rest assured that I speak from a wealth of knowledge on the subject

Is it possible use canva templates/ blocks via gutenberg html in Drupal9 without any issues?
Or using pre finished wordpress patterns (wordpress.org) via gutenberg html block in Drupal9?

It would make the life of many customers more easy because (for me) Drupal is way complicated....

What is your blog on (broad strokes man) you use it as a super affilaite or what?

Yes wordpress cms has a big security leak for hackers, use directory privacy hide the wp-admin url, hide wp-admin php and wp-config.php and you should be fine.

Today I import from previous site (client) a wp database with woocommerce (the customers data), move to new server (hoster) , edit the database name, replace all the sql file url's, import the database all is fine, but the wordpress dashboard with woocommerc is empty not a single customer there, what the hell is happened on wordpress today?

Hi guys,

when I do wp directory protection (cpanel) the wp-admin and wp-content folder, will that stop google from indexing my site and I get negative affect on seo ranking?

No, you will not get negative seo for directory protecting wp-admin, google should still index your website. Don't remember if protecting wp-content is correct or not.

thedorf; Thank you !

Transfer to Ghost, nothing better
When you make good money with that traffic when it's possible buy one of these more expansive cms systems like the media news sites using (as example) when this is within your budget. I don't know if these cms systems are easier to use, but to organize large content , indexing large content (urls without the wordpress indexing limit) and for top seo to dominate google like cnn or bloomberg- then yes sure. These expansive cms systems not explain on their sites why they are better than the free wordpress, thy keep this in silent.....

Happy Weekend for you !

You can try Ghost: lightweight, built for blogging, fast and simpler than WP.

Or headless CMS (e.g., Strapi, Sanity, Prismic) – super-fast and scalable if you pair with Next.js/Astro frontend.

If it's only for blogging i would go with custom developed cms that suites your needs.
In today's era, with AI, it's pretty easy, though the whole design of the system needs to be from someone experienced. The days when we used existing CMS such as WordPress, Google Blogs, or other solutions are gone. For most uses, you can develop it on your own or have a Vibe coder do it for you.
If you need a hand with that feel free to reach out we can discuss your options

I just use 1 plugin and that is Rankmath SEO, nothing else.
Everyday scheduled backup is on
