I see software on my favorite software site that says "Automate your work with code-free, ready-made API integrations".

I've known of people using API for a while now in marketing, but in what use cases? Other than pulling data and integrating some software together, what can I do with connecting these different API? If I want to embed some software into some other software on a app or site, is this a must have software?

I invest in different automation software and this caught my eye, but admittedly Im drawing a blank... Im not a programmer, should I buy this though?

A system having API means it can communicate with other software through endpoints. It literally means nothing else mate, you already got it right. It's a selling point for other developers so that they can integrate stuff into their existing pipeline.

I think you might be able to get more help if you are able to share what the website does, and more specifically what do you use it for that makes you want to do something with their API. It is difficult to tell what the possible use cases of an API is for without knowing what it does. It's kinda like saying "My favorite place to shop is willing to offer private services. What can I use it for?".

Scraping is a common use case. Can also automate functions like posting and commenting on social media. Whether or not you should buy API access will depend on your use case for it.
