Hello Everyone

Here is my little sad story!

I have a client who operates in many different countries. Recently it came to our attention that some notorious people have created websites with the same company name as my client and added country name in it. For example www.abcUK.com, www.abcMalaysia.com

In search results those scam websites are showing up and people are being scammed. We have reported several times to Google but nothing is happening.

My Idea is to create country pages on the official website like www.abc.com/country/UK and www.abc.com/country/Malaysia

I want to ask, will this work? Is there any better idea to remove those scam websites from Google?

Many Thanks

You have already answer, Create country pages.

If possible contact their hosting company and report they are scamming to your client company.
Also if it is big company then do trademark.

Will my country pages rank in Google? Is this the right approach according to Google?

It can work, but also you have to think about languages set in headers, for example Malaysian language for malaysian readers. Maybe is better to invest in localized domains, like yoursite.com.au, yoursite.com.uk, etc

Thanks! I have already created country pages, but those are not ranking on Google yet. Not sure how much time will it take to rank or whether it will rank or not!

Hello there,

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing, but kudos to you for taking proactive steps to address the issue. Creating country pages on the official website seems like a solid strategy to establish the legitimacy of your client's presence in each country. It can enhance the official site's visibility and credibility, potentially pushing down the scam websites in search results.

Additionally, consider reaching out to Google's legal support for a more direct and expedited resolution. Keep documenting and reporting the scam websites, and don't hesitate to explore legal avenues if necessary. Your dedication to resolving this matter is commendable. Best of luck, and I hope the situation improves soon!

Wow, you're so eloquent. ChatGPT has nothing on you.

Manually reporting them is your best option. You can not stop them but you can lessen their efficiently output.

besides creating the websites if the comany have social media create some post, reels, shorts and let people know that there is a scammy website and which one is the real and correct one, that can also help you to reach more people also send emails in case you have that information of your customers for a more personalized experience and any if a scammed customer reach you out the company can cover their back at some point by saying they sent emails and post it in their social media to warn everyone.

By the time scammers are on your case it means you are making enough to guard your reputation which is an ongoing job. Take downs, SEO and brand ads become routine.

Thanks everyone for your replies.... as I mentioned above, I created country pages and those are now started to show up on Google :D Some of them are ranking above the scammers websites when users search for those countries. I guess mission accomplished :d

To overcome fake websites created by scammers, it is important to always research the website before entering any personal information or making any payments. Check for reviews and customer feedback to get an idea of the website's legitimacy.

as per my view its not possible to remove that websites either you buy that websites from the owner and you have to make sure youre sites presence is very good so its not getting much views or traffic

thanks

The major thing you can do is work make PR campaigns about these scams.

Scams happens all the time and it's the uninformed that usually falls for them. It's a cat and mouse game trying to report these scam websites or purchase their domain because scammers will always find creative ways to create convincing looking scam domain (at least convincing to their victims).

TLDR; Report these websites but work on your PR about scam.

Be cautious of suspicious websites
Check the website's URL
Look for a secure connection
Research the website
