Reddit Algorithm

Is there anyone familiar with how the Reddit algorithm operates? On most social media platforms, when you share content, it's initially shown to a specific number of people, and based on their engagement, it either gains momentum or fades away. However, Reddit seems to follow a different pattern. I've been posting in large subreddits with over 200k members, but 8 out of 10 of my posts struggle to reach 100 views within the first two hours, despite there being at least 200-1000 active members at the time. Does your total karma and account age influence how much the algorithm promotes your content? My account is relatively new, around three months old, with 1.5k karma and approximately 220 followers

I believe the users would have to sort by new to see your post. Reddit is not like most platforms that shows users content. The only way to go "viral" would be to get on the popular page. To get there you would need to get a lot for traffic from your post in your subreddit first.

Not a lot, usually just 1 to 4 upvotes for every 100 views. I'm not sure what counts as a 'view' though. Is it when someone clicks and opens the photo/vid, or just when they scroll over it without opening? Do you know? Also, how many upvotes should a post get for every 100 views in order to be pushed further?

Reddit counts post views if somebody has seen the post in their feed - they don't have to click on it or anything.. which imo is BS statistics..

If a sub has a lot of people posting, not that many will see yours unless you make a really good and catchy post. People will see your post in their feed if it's starting to receive a lot of upvotes.

I have to done many tests regarding the Reddit algorithm. I have scrolled through 100s of posts on my home feed and build a scraper to scrape all the data like: upvotes, comments, age, top weekly position, top daily position, top hot position of the post in the subreddit. This is how I started to understand what works and what doesn't on Reddit. Now I suggest you to do the same. If you want to learn how the algorithm works, this is the way. Also think about what kind of platform Reddit is.
