One of my sites on google analytics is showing an average time on site of 3min54seconds, but yet the bounce rate is over 90%...
This seems contradictory to me, if that average visit is almost 4 minutes, how could the bounce rate be so high?

Also, how do I tell if a site is not being indexed by google because of its past uses? I have a relatively new site that I have sent through all my normal methods for getting indexed (i.e. identica) and its still not getting indexed and awstats shows plenty of googblebot crawls.

Bounce rate increases if the user sees only one page and leaves, doesn't matter the time he spent on that page.

The bot crawled your site, but did not index it. Crawling and indexing are 2 different thngs

Thanks a lot for the explanation.... Still don't understand when the site is not getting indexed, as it an autoblog (Lots of content) and I write original content to include with it. All of my other autoblogs were indexed within 24 hours after following methods I briefly mentioned above. It has been verified by google webmaster tools, yahoo's version of verification, alexa owner verification with description and of course identica.... what gives?
