X is not really a source of information,
it's a social media platforms, there's little to no well informative articles published in there,
Bing Chat have access to the internet and it will surely come with more information, kinda limited tho,
There's a premium version coming soon as well and not to mention that's based on GPT-4, so it will be way better

Yeah you have to go from ) subscription to full Premium+ to be able to have access to it. No direct access to upgrade from Premium to Premium+ without first unsubscribing from premium which no one wants to risk, particularly after having monetization enabled.

You forget X now has something called community notes, which is actually doing a good job of exposing falsehood without censoring speech. Besides, humanity's advance in civilization has been enabled by crowdsourcing. Take BHW for instance. A massive resource of crowdsourced information that everyone can access.

As per whether a social media environment is a good space to train a GPT on - I would say it depends on your expected outcome, besides the fact that it is not trained exclusively on social media content. grok seems to be deigned to be playful and jocular - a feature quite desirable for realistic conversational botting. My take though.
