Can you short most crypto currency?

I own some crypto but it was a long term investment so I don't really know a lot about it.

My question is simple. Can you bet on a coins price going down? If so can you do it for most coins including the small ones? And which exchange is best to do this?

yeah you can short coins on exchanges, or just sell high then rebuy at lower prices so you have more coins

Yeah you can on just about any major exchange. It will of course come with many risks.

Even the small ones? So I'm right in saying if it's listed on the exchange you can short it?

Short-selling (selling without actually owning the asset) is allowed only on futures contracts.
For newly listed coins is common to don't have such type of contracts where you can short.

This seems to be correct. Even on mexc I can't see shorting options for small shitcoins.
