Does it really matter for ecommerce website (lets say in social media services) having an informational blog pages? Does it help for Topical authority and through it increasing SERP positions for product pages?
Or for eceommerce like sites, it is just link building that matters?
If blog pages do matter, how would you compare its importance with link building impact?
lets sayy 50% blog pages, and 50% link building??

It depends entirely on the website and what type of website it is. From my stats ecommerce sites the products tend to be statistically the highest entrance pages and blog posts keep the bounce down. Solid, useful on-site blog posts help with your conversion rate.

Times are changing though, theres many FAQ solutions that use AI to answer questions and convert now ...

I meant not conversion wise, I meant if Google algos gives additional advantage to site with many info pages, cause of increased Topical authority.

But thats the job of your product pages (or conversion pages, be it what they are). Your on-site blog (now outdated with AI FAQ) is for conversion rate.

Seems we slightly talk about different stuff buddy...
Informational pages supposed to pull organic traffic and also will be interlinked to product pages and other info pages for better link juice. So it supposed to increase rankings of product pages and overall of the site.

I'm with you brother, but when we talk on the forums its hard to ascertain the differences in each others business model. Even if its similar, what works for someone may not work for someone else.
People tend to use their own experience (or analytics) and for most, your product pages tend to be your biggest "entrance pages". That said pending your set up that may be different, but ultimately, in the end, the formula tends to be the same.

It will surely help, not totally necessary tho,
It will help you get more organic traffic that might convert, build user & SEO trust and topical authority for sure,
Why would let go of such opportunity?

It might need some investements as well, depending on the niche/keywords and location,
Some keywords might be competitive and would need you to invest into SEO

Creating blog articles with informational content related to an ecommerce site can have a positive impact on the site. It can help to increase website traffic, improve SEO, and build trust with potential customers. Additionally, it can help to generate leads, improve brand recognition, and increase overall sales.

A blog boosts your ecommerce site's topical authority and SERP rankings. It's not just about selling, but also engaging and providing value.

Yes i think, as i know it helps on seo ranking on searches as it increaces your visiter and keyword volume.

Both blog pages and link building are crucial elements of search engine optimization (SEO) and overall online marketing success, but their importance can vary depending on your specific goals and website's stage.

In my opinion it does help a lot. If you are publishing a good number of blog posts, you have a better chance to gain more impressions and a higher chance to obtain topical authority fast. Also, many other ecommerce businesses are not using the power of blogs. So you should give it a try.
