Hey there,

I am recreating a clients website they currently have just a single landing page, but they want to start ranking on google for multiple keywords, and want to expand their reach for organic with SEO. I have looked through some threads on here, but I still feel like I haven't gotten a clear picture on how I need to structure my website for optimal ranking, additions and any new content/keywords I want to be adding.

My plan as of now

  1. Figure out website structure / layout - So I can design it and setup pages accordingly
  2. Keyword Research (https://fatjoe.com/keyword-research/)
  3. Blog Content Plan (https://fatjoe.com/blog-content-plan/)
  4. Find service on BHW that can build monthly links, citations, etc.

-----------------------------

Here is a thread I found that shows layout for homepage. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/method-increase-traffic-w-simple-hack.1393907/

Does this mean that my main keyword (highest traffic on google) should be supported with my next top 9 high traffic keywords on homepage.

-----------------------------

Also how should my pages be structured in regards to the keywords/pages/content?

This is so overwhelming for me. Even following this infographic , I am not sure which keywords should go where etc.

Thank you,

I can also offer to pay if needed to help me setup how many pages and website should look (layout, structure)

-----------------------------

Example of some type of layout structure (this is just an example)

Home
-Main Keyword

9 blog posts with supporting keywords with links to other pages for those keywords

If you are recreating a site, and its a clients site i would play it safe initially and update it using a modern template that passes googles core web vitals immediately from install (flatsome for example).

Then copy their meta and content over precisely.

If their old site is dated, fails core web vitals etc that alone will be enough to bump it up the rankings.

I would break the project down in to stages, with the above being stage #1.

Also, what are their goals here? What are they trying to achieve?

They are trying to rank their site. The keyword's aren't really that high competition, but there is possibility for 2000+ visits per month if I can rank them.

They currently are ranking for keywords, but nowhere near top spot since their website has less than 1000 words total.

They have no issues currently, but they want more organic traffic.

Are they service or product based? Is their landing page a doorway to products or service?

They are B2B. They sell a certain product, but its a reoccuring type of product. So any company who finds it, if they are interested and agree with pricing will stay on for a long time.

I would strongly consider revamping their website using WPML. Migrate them to wordpress, move the content over and meta, 301 any url's as necessary, let it index in google then rewrite their site content to meet the expected requirements, fluff up their product / info pages then install WPML and target their top 5 traffic sources by country as a minimum via WPML.

They only target one location actually, its within 50km radius. They don't care about traffic farther than that.

Mate its very hard to guess the facts without you divulging them :) I won't know whether its local, domestic or national unless you tell me.

If its local, product based, I would assume their SEO targets a county / state and then towns / regions within? How else would they gain localised traffic without paid ads, Your welcome to PM me more info (just enough to understand).

They are service/product based. Meaning their service fulfills within a 50km area of their warehouse. They delivery products to other warehouses within that 50km radius.

So it is "Local" as in a specific state, and even more specific cities.

So when somebody contacts them outside of that radius, they won't be able to fulfill.

I have ran paid ads for them, its junk. Spending $1000-2000 a month for paid ads, and getting clicks & conversions that would be brought in if they just ranked higher on google.

Ok I get you - If I were them, rather than focus on improved rankings I would focus on improved "conversion rate optimisation".

Do you know what they currently convert at? 8% might be the minimum but as B2B most sales go through email (proforma invoice request > payment > shipping etc) so I understand it can be hard to track.

I would revamp the site with an updated template (flatsome for eg) that passes googles CWV off the bat, fluff the pages up and aim to get significantly more (quality) pages in the index than they currently have, then focus on tracking and improving their conversion rate.

Honestly don't under-estimate conversion rate optimization. It's your natural next step after you achieve rankings. You can literally double your sales by making a few small on-site changes from simplifying the contact, centralising the support, using AI for knowledge base and FAQ or just simplifying the checkout to remove actions required to complete a checkout. Just my 2c mate, ive been in B2B for 25 years in the UK in the high end specialised video hardware industry specialising in video matrixing and overlay, very specialised products but unlike yours are in demand world wide.

Thanks, yeah thats what I plan on doing right now. Going to try some new stuff maybe with a VSL or something to offer business owners some answered questions before they ask for quote.
