For those who were doing in-person crypto transactions, how did you go about it?

Did you first send the guy crypto than he cashed you out or?

How would you go about it?

That's how p2p works for the most part
The platform holds the asset before it's sent out to the buyer

But I am talking in person, not online.

I would meet with a guy, the platform doesn't know if we met or not :D

Too risky to be honest. I would never do it in person. P2P is better in every ways except for the kyc part, but I personally don’t have anything to hide. Even if I had, in person transactions would be the last thing I would do.

Don't do this. You can end up in the hospital or even worse (and without money).

But read earlier somewhere it was better to do in person than through the banks.

What do you think I demand the cash first than I send the crypto?

You will read about a lot of bad advices on the internet. Doesn't mean they are true. Yes, if you have a security team or something, try it... but if you are a common man, don't do it.

For a p2p to occur succesfully, you need a third party who can hold/release the crypto when the fund has been recieved by the other party. With a gun pointed at your head, it would be rather tough to prove the other party wrong.

For safety I use P2P on Bitget. That way the transaction is protected by the exchange so you can rest assured

Always use a trusted platform, so it goes through Escrow.

There is nothing wrong with in-person transactions. Unless they are illegal in nature. You're not selling drugs, you're trading crypto for cash.

The question is; what is the amount. If you're looking to swap a million bucks, boy, quickest way to end up in someones torture basement.

But if it's a few hundred, maybe a few thousand - just meet at a public place, the mall or coffee shop, it's no more different than selling a used iphone or car or literally any other good.

Always ask for money upfront. Because crypto transactions are irreversible, cash transactions are. Perhaps look for someone local, who runs a arbritage business. I have done so in the past, but only by recommendation, never a stranger from the internet.

Exactly how it went

Exactly how it went
Met the guy, we already discussed all terms. He gave me the money, I transfered him the crypto to his provided wallet. Went our separate ways in 10 minutes.

It's literally like selling/buying a used item from a person. Hell I sold a psu for 30 bucks last week to some random guy, our exchange went essentially the same.

for security reasons, I would not recommend transferring cryptocurrency before receiving money. as is the case with p2p. But if it's your friend, you can do as you like.

You have a meeting. Somewhere in public. The best option in a bank. Depends on to amount but you could need that counting machine. He passes you cash and while the banker counts it you will set up transaction. Do not send, but be ready. After the amount is confirmed you do the transaction.
They need you more than you need them. It returns based business.
