Expire domain question

Hello everyone,

I just got and expired domain with a great backlink profile mostly from english sites that is over 10 years old it had an English language website on it build but, I would like to use this domain to create a website on same niche as previous one but, I want website to be on German language.

So, my question is would Google penalize my site by doing this or would I get some negative effect because I create new site on different language?

What you guys think? Thanks

You won't get penalized but you might not face the same network effects of an aged domain if you use a different language then it was made for.

If google still has the pages of the domain indexed and sees your new non-English content, it might surely affect rankings.

I do not think it should be a problem, you can change the language English to German.

I have not tested it with German sites. But I have few expired domains with 90% eng links. But the site is ranking in different language very well. But the domain used to have the same language.. but there is a good chance you will rank as well. Also it depends how competitive is your niche

It's not ideal, but it's not as much of a problem as other way around. Having German expired domain and building English site on it would be a massive handicap.

Country specific Google versions are much more lenient about the "rules", so you should be just fine.

Ok cool, and what about same situation but, instead to German language to Spanish language? Would that be better?

The smaller the market, the better. Not sure it would make that much difference in this case.

Awesome thanks for the help man! Just one last question does it help if I get same domain from Germany country which are .de and redirected to my main domain that I am changing to German language?

Never tried it, possibly. Try not to push it with redirects though, they are not a miraculous way to rank.

Yes, I wont user redirect to rank is just to justify the change of language. Also, redirection should be done on htaccess or on domain registrar? Thanks!
