I'm never convinced these cheap links will improve my Google ranking - any evidence?

It is not advised to directly do gsa backlinks blast on money website
Sometimes it can do worse then expecting any good.
If you have no rankings or traffic then sure you can go ahead and try with smaller pack first.
If it gives you good result then go with bigger pack.
