Can anyone help me in creating a WeChat account ? I tri d but seems like they don't take virtual numbers and they ask me to very my account by telling someone in China to do a verification. Basically know no one in China . Any help would be helpful thanks

Yes I've had this same issue. I get a lot of random friend requests from chinese girls, but whenever I ask them to help me verify my account, they don't respond.

Good luck! I worked in China last year. Had tons of Chinese people around that tried to help me. I was just instabanned every time

You probably can't make an account because they require people to submit China ID if you're talking about WeChat official account.

Very late reply but here is a weird/long strategy that worked for me...

Get on a language exchange app and say you are a native English speaker. You will get a TON of Chinese people messaging you because they want free English lessons. Befriend a few and say you are interested in WeChat and want to try it out. They are likely to refer and help you sign up. Good luck!

In 2019 it was reported that Chinese users can use WeChat Pay in 25 countries outside of China. Although you share a good method. thanks

I'm in Malaysia and has use WeChat for many years. No issue to tie to my number here.

However, since 2019, I can't link to WeChat pay anymore as the system asked for China bank card number. That's why I switched to Alipay when I was in China last year.

Anyone outside China here managed to use WeChat pay? As in can you receive money to the WeChat wallet?

The country of origin for your number doesnt matter. I've registered with US, CA, and Chinese numbers. But they have become more strict where you need 1-2 person to verify right after you sign up in order to complete the process.
