GoDaddy VS OffShoreDedicated

Hi Bhw Fam,

So I have a movie streaming website that is being hosting on godaddy using this plan atm:

I started the journey being a complete noob with hosting/sites/everything. I have now figured out that using this is both dangerous as I am doing some that is blackhat and also it is way too small hence why my site keeps lagging and I cant exceed a certain amount of users at once.


I found OffshoreDedicated which seems like exactly the kind of hosting I should be using. Now the question I have is, which plan should I choose to best fit my needs?

I have an average of about 20k monthly visitors and my budget is not insane:

I was considering going with this VPS server as it is in my budget range but I am not sure if it is good enough which is why I have come to you all for help haha!

Would this be enough for my 20k monthly visitors? All the movies are being pulled from other servers so it is not like I am taking up a bunch of space but the I am getting quite a lot of traffic causing the site to lag.

Offshorededi seems nice, as it is based in Romania. I think it would be ok for 20K monthly visitors, but checking quickly you can get better for around that price, at Alexhost 4 cores, 8 GO RAM, for 16e/month.

Also, do you leave in a safe country for piracy or have you taken security measure? Because for eg if rightsholders / justice ask godaddy your personl infos(IP, way of payment, mail etc...) they can easily identify you.

Yeah that is what I realised and I am also in a country with little to no rules on this stuff so I’m lucky with that.

If I change will they still be able to find that I had been doing it with go daddy for 3 months?

Also do I have to change the domain name?

I would recommend you to get a dedicated server with minimum of 1gbps uplink, as 100mbps wont be enough for your streaming clients, so any offshore dedicated server with 16GB of RAM and SSD storage and 1gbps uplink will be fine for your needs, also you do not have to change the domain name, just change the name server's IP's to your new server and add their DNS entries on the new server.

It depends which cpu is being offered for VPS plan, but i would also recommend to consider dedicated server instead.

I would like to go to a dedicated server but due to the profits atm I believe better to start off with a smaller upgrade budget wise and then work my way up as traffic increases.

avoid godaddy at all costs. they have a habit of disabling websites without notice for stupidest complaints.

Actually I would never recommend a 100mbps, it has to be at least 1gbps, and about RAM and CPU, you have to make sure that the main server node is not getting oversell, as in terms of VPS, just like shared hosting you can see a RAM and CPU allocated to you in virtual terms, where in reality you might not get the full power of those CORES and RAM, as the main node is shared, though a good VPS provider wont oversell their hardware resources, still dedicated server is on the safe side.

On the other side very interesting, big companies (not all...) hosting with godaddy, I wonder when they are so bad...any little service or feature costs extra money, support only via phone, but it's enough for these big companies, I can not explain it. Maybe they are all criminal badasses like gofuckdaddy so they like to be together in their inner gofuckdaddy circle or something like that...(means they have same thoughts and mentality) .

Gofuckdaddy hired a lot of military stuff is that right? Since when are military guys are good sellers? Where they get their personal to make big sales every year with customers?

When you choose to stay with them on webhosting so I think their Ultim,ate hosting plan is best when you want to make your site bigger with regular blogging and ressources needed, the other plans economy and deluxe are too tight. For their price there are better webhost providers who are little bit cheaper and who not have these ridiculous restrictions like gofuckdaddy.

No from starterstorys(com) and appsruntheworld(com)...........I tried to find out on google how bigger companies think about gofuckdaddy and was very shocked at this list....
For normal folks like us, nobody on the planet who has a sane mind is buying their webhosting/ servers, except domain today in 2023.
But this little info is showing that they are more like an expensive premium hosting provider for those who have money, not for the mass, that's their business concept.

It's often so that you can not explain th ementality of big companies, you think "wow they are rude badasses how they can have clients" ?....in some niches when you want become big in industry you must be a badass, otherwise they (competitors) not accept you and kick you out. Yep have the "JR" in mind the greedy badass from Dallas ! When you can not be like him in the oil branch, you better take another niche/industry.
