YouTube has blocked uBlock origin, I'm so happy.

So today I noticed youtube has detected uBlock origin and no longer allows you to use it if you have this extension turned on.

At first I was annoyed, and then I thought about the hour a day I probably waste down YouTube rabbit holes.

I go to turn on some chill out music while I work and an hour later I'm watching how cheese factories work...

I think my work output is going to be 10%+ now!

and did you like my attempt at a youtube style clickbait title!? haha

I am all in from ad blockers being banned, will increase both my channels and sites revenue

interesting...because I just tried again it's working now. Maybe they are doing some split testing of that feature.

I´ve seen other member having problems with uBlock origin too, seems to be random.

On devices that don't have an adblocker, I read the comments while the ads play. The comments section can be a gold mine, for information as well as entertainment. Quite a few times I have learnt something new, which was not in the video, after reading the comments or had a good laugh after reading a funny comment. Especially so for review videos you might watch for something you are considering to buy, one of the comments will nail it for you while the reviewer goes about saying nice things about the product just so that you click the affiliate link given below the video.

ad blockers are updating sometimes work other times no, so is kind of random, I have them enabled but still saw ads every time I open a video and there were videos where no a single add pop up, pure internal peace.

On my end youtube blocks ublock only when i'm sign into a google account, if i'm not logged in then everything works as before.

I have always paid for premium on smart tv devices like Amazon Firestick Samsung TV. But on pc I can’t recommend enhancer enough. Geen YT, audio and video enhancements. Keep watching video while scrolling or pip and move to another screen. Amazing. And android well avances fork is still around but at one point Youtube Vanced was YouTube if YouTube was a god, way ahead of the YouTube curve and made YouTube browsing , watching, listening and saving downloads for later an art. I miss it. Just mho. Out.
