How much money do you need to live?

I think it's not about money at all. People just want things, materialistic or not, we just want things, so when we chase money, we think that once we have a lot of it we could get anything we want. The funniest part starts after you have good amount of money and stability, you'll start to see the things that you can't see while you're poor, different things, like you can't buy love or friendship (or your friends can't stand with you on the same ladder anymore, they need to work everyday etc.) and money will never solve your problems, they even will create more lol.

What I see, that people say "I wanna be rich", but what we mean is "I wanna be stronger, smarter, know more ways to survive, to get friends, girls, people, power etc".

If I had a lot of money, I would use it for charity
Define "a lot".
Will you use it exclusively for charity? Before you took care of your family? I'm not talking about the basics, I'm talking about a noticable upgrade, such as big savings accounts, a new house, college funds, etc..
Charities are part of most people's ongoing expenses, but I don't think it's their main motivation.

I'd buy my mom a house before I give a substantial amount to charity.

As long as I earn enough to write code on a beach in the Caribbean, with a drink in my hand and my computer, that's enough.

I’d be happy with 4-5k/month to be honest. I also have my son, wife and my father to support. So yeah, not doing charity that much (other than feeding street dogs and cats, but doing so doesn’t take much money anyways).

Agreed. Charity begins at home.

Well currently my monthly "living costs" are about 1500 euro a month including gas, food, electricity, water etc. and I am making like 1.8k so barely have any money to do something that Id like to or go shopping, I have not gone shopping in years it feels since I moved out.

My target is atleast 5-6k a month so I have some breathing room and some money stacking on the side to be able to both invest and shop a bit you know, update my swag a bit and buy a snowboard that I have been wanting too haha.

Also want to hopefully retire my parents some day as they are 56 and still working everyday which really affects my mentality on a day-to-day basis :(

I'm worried about eating every meal every day

Making a lot of money is fun. What other reason do you need?

$5000/month in my country is as much as you need to live large and relaxed. But if I can make more so it's not a problem to lose a job it's more peaceful.

My monthly financial requirement which amounts to approximately $1,400. This budget is essential for covering the costs of my medical marijuana and purchasing food that aligns with my dietary restrictions due to allergies.

As you grow older you begin to think of things like health insurance and eating good food

Eg Whole foods are much more expensive than junk

So IMO, a good living means eating well, having some kind of health insurance and having some time for leisure, not working yourself to death

FREE TIME is the most important wealth indicator IMO

Guy with 10 billion dollars but cannot have 5 minutes to themselves isn't truly rich IMO

Everything else is extra. I might be one of the few souls on this planet who thinks cars are a waste of money. If I want a luxury car, I'd rent it for a week. Also, buying a luxury home is a major waste IMO, you're just gonna pay high property taxes and your living standard isn't that much better than the average home. Want luxury home? Stay at a nice resort for a week.

Most shit rich people buy are totally worthless IMO. Buy yourself time, it's the most valuable asset.
