Has anyone figured out what the helpful content is really about?
I have 2 websites with similar strategy, one got hit (traffic down more than 70%) the other one did not
clearly it's not about helpful content because the site that got hit has well-researched, helpful content
clearly it's not about penalizing ai written content because the site that got hit did not have any ai written content

trying to figure out what problem google has with my site so I can fix it? bad anchor text? pbn not related in topic to website content? something with on-site seo?

Might be they targeted affiliate sites. I'm down almost 90% since September.

That's how Google is at times, they will hit you for stuff you don't even know about.

There were too many consecutive updates the past few weeks for me to believe any of the last 2 is anything serious.

I have a site that saw upto 60% increase in both traffic and keywords ranked for. While another increased slightly in traffic but not in keywords. A different one just went down.

It was mostly smilar strategy applied to the trio of them.

I think google may thought your content as for SERP ranking. When content is written for people, value is the priority. The article focuses on providing the information the reader is looking for and making it easy for them to digest. While keywords can be included naturally, the content is much more focused on the human components than on SERPs rankings. so This update responds to the growing trend of publishing low-quality content online and purpose content for SEO Ranking.

Google takes down real sites with those updates most of the time
No way around it
