Hello, I created a website for a local business. I have no idea about SEO. I need to get my business to the top of Google.

The good thing is that when I looked at Semrush, I saw that there was not much competition. (In the category of business)

Are there any simple free SEO tactics I can do?

1) if you are new to seo you most likely have no clue what the semrush stats or reports actually mean
ur best option would be to post a screenshot of the smerush stats here and wait for input by others, just make sure to hide the domain

Yes I agree with you. Let me ask again. Are there any SEO tactics that I can do without spending time and money?
On a serious note, the problem is the people you are competing with probably know and have done all “no time no money” tactics, so if you did them also, it would get you no further than them

Well I was going to answer your OP but saw your reply that you don't want to invest time too!

In that case you pray in your free time because you will at minimum have to do things yourself or hire a VA.

Absolutely not.

How can that even be possible?

First make you site structure & on page seo perfect.

Use schema markup based on your niche/business.

Make use of questions & faq schema markup, optimize pages around these questions or create a faq/knowledgebase.
Most local business niches have potential customers searching lots of questions.

Core web vitals are always important focus on that too.

Now make use of GMB optimize it properly based on your business niche.
If you don't know how to do that watch on Youtube there are enough resources.

Citations & local business directory listings.
Make sure to provide correct up to date info NAP data.

Make use of review sites like trustpilot, site jabber& others.
Find real people to post incentivized reviews or make your customers to post these reviews.

If you have a budget in future invest in quality backlinks.

These should help you to Kickstart your local venture.

Yes of course there are! On my opinion to improve your local business's visibility on Google for free, focus on optimizing your website's titles, descriptions, and content for local keywords, claim and optimize your Google My Business listing, and encourage customers to leave positive review

Thanks very much for your recommendation. I will definitely implement what you said.

"Use schema markup based on your niche/business." Is there a video tutorial or any documentation on how exactly to do this part?

I agreed with you that your selected niche have not so much competition but always make sure that low competition leads to low demand, so it might be possible that your selected niche will have very low demand in the market & which is a weak point for you.

you are absolutely right. There is low demand because there is low competition. We are aware of this. My goal is to direct all requests to my business website.

If you can't afford links, create a blog section to drive traffic
