I saw some people reporting this message a few months ago, it seems that now it has started to be frequent again and for more people.

Probably after the Youtube Premium, investments in technology to detect adblockers became interesting for Youtube, which seems to continue fighting to force users to pay for the subscription.

Makes sense from Youtubes POV. Ad rev is their main rev model, afterall. :D

What adblocker are you using? I don't get that pop up with ublock origin.

You can use smart tube for Android tv and revenced till it's working.

I don't get that on unblock origin, but they might be testing on small group of people if it's worth to force people to disable ad blockers

We got that topic here the last days.
Some reported that they use brave browser to continue, for me adblocker still work.

Using normal adblocker on firefox.
And totally makes sense, they have to make money somehow.
As I said below, not really knowledgeable about ublock origin. Would maybe like to give it a second go. Do you recommend it on firefox?

I see, but actually I prefer watching youtube on one of my monitors, and have an iphone for mobile.

I am not really sure how to use ublock origin in regards to ads - couldn't really figure it out but maybe I didn't try hard enough.
I am more interested in ublock origin for adblocking on twitch, because normal adblock doesnt work on twitch.
I am using firefox btw.

I see. Interestingly, I only got this message on one video specifically. And got it twice in a row when exiting my tab and reopening it.
Maybe not worth noting.
I am using adblocker.

I am glad i am from a 3rd world country, no ads at all. No need for adblockers LOL

it's a vicious cycle. But too many people had adblock, thus making youtube lose money. More ads = more adblocks and repeat.

Ive always been of mixed mind about this. Google said they wanted to eventually discourage adblockers, which in our line of business is great for us. But as an internet user i hate it.

Google is not at fault, youtubes ads were very simple and honestly not that annoying, I didn't get adblock before all the sites I visit became cancer. Adblock became mandatory on any browser I use. Unless it breaks the site.

In my opinion, youtube ads are always the worst. Just totally not targeted to me at all, and always about complete crap.
Like very stupid uber or doordash videos, or really really annoying banking or corporate ads.

At least on insta, I have actually benefitted from a bunch of ads - they are really specific to my interests and I learn new things and click on them all the time.
On youtube, I seriously don't think I have ever NOT responded to an ad by being annoyed

I'm talking about old-school youtube. Where the only ad was maybe the 5sec and and banner that pops up. Perhaps some keyword ads on the sides or recommended videos.

You know how to use the system, but that doesn't morally obligate you to let the system use you.

Also can we appreciate the irony of some folks jumping to defend Google's rules on a black hat forum xD
