Why? I am using 3-4 domain registrars and porkbun was fine for several years so far

Does it have a special .TLD?
Some registras informs you because they have less time to renew for what reasons ever.
So its just a security thing to help you to not loose that domain, due of failing payments etc.

Let us know if you got such a "special" tld thats different from others

It's just warning you to renew. Don't wait for it to go expired/auctioned.

don't transfer to west.xyz(44$) as far i remember they don't let you transfer out , they will delay it forever by asking you to verify id.

Don't panic, and there's no reason to switch registrars. That's how some TLDs or gTLDs work. Just pay your bill on time.

i use sav.com for 300 domains, never had a single issue.
also used namesilo, namecheap, the con artists godaddy (for specific domains), and dynadot.
