If you are a seller and you accept from Paypal, if a customers fakes things to get a refund, will Paypal take the balance from your paypal account and refund the customer? Also what are the odds that the customer successfully can convince Paypal for a refund? What does he or she need to provide?

In most of the cases, PayPal tends to complete the refund in the benefit of the buyer. The safest option is the Friends&Family feature.
If you'll get a lot of refund requests, your account may be closed.

Now, your question may be: Even if the customer is trying to scam me?
Short answer: Yes.

Same with the Stripe.

Cheers!

So you're telling me that the seller is always at a disadvantage and can't do anything to avoid being scammed?

Mostly it's favour to the buyer, so the scammers may try not at all genuine clients, and so if you've a valid proofs to defend then you'll be successful at the time of dispute cases and possibly avoid the scams.

1. Keep Conversations with Clients.
2. Ecommerce = Always Tracking Numbers
3. Take Picture of each sale you do.

Yes, paypal will definitely take the funds/put the amount on hold if your buyer files any sort of dispute. And it will almost always be in the buyers favor.

Part of being a seller is some people will scam you. Luckily if you have a solid service/product MOST of your customers won't be scammers.

As also said, good process and records may help you win a dispute.

Don't focus on the negative - scammers gonna scam - just focus on doing your best, and providing a good product/service. Karma will help you succeed

I don't know how you got this JR tag, maybe with money but I have won many disputes. Just use paypal like you own it. You will win disputes with proper documentation. take customer I'd to fight back.

If you are doing a trusted business and customer satisfied your product, most customers will not ask for refunds. at least 99%.

Most payment platform using this method to detect whether is the seller is scammer.

he bought it.

I don't think fake screenshots or proofs will beat your real ones at all but yes paypal may not be that fair sometimes but nothing to do just try to keep every evidence and be very clear

yeah, like the others said they tend to lean to customers side most of the time when refund is requested, in fact they do this so much that there is a whole illegal market where people sell their PP refunding "service" where they help people scam and get stuff for free from PP, it's crazy
