Start Having Some Respect For People!

@zen19 - great points, and I suspect you only scratched the surface of some of the crap that mods see and hear about.

@OP - you make some salient points, though there's a certain irony in some of the replies about "just move on if you can't say anything nice" in a thread complaining about people not saying nice things.

@everyone - I'm frustrated with people trying to spam bhw, and frustrated about seeing the same question asked and answered a number of times, and frustrated over having to sort through x number of "how do i make monies on the interwebby" posts, but....

I'm especially frustrated with two events of late (which to some degree may be intertwined).

There's been a number of aged bhw accounts with low post #'s posting some extremely dickhead noob type threads for a bit now. These people (whoever they are) need to be run off. I don't know whether they are actual owners of aged accounts who have suddenly decided to turn loose the dogs of stupidiy on us, or whether they are up to something more malicious.

Around the same time (coincidence? only fools full believe in coincidence) there began an uptick - no, make that a dramatic spike - in attempts to post heavily-infected files posing as popular DNS apps (scrapebox, xrumer, and senuke are 3 I know of). These pieces of digital feces are often phishing malware, possibly seeking to compromise more bhw accounts.

And at least some of them were posted under the usernames of aged accounts. The mods have been rightfully uber-aggressive in a search and destroy mission on these and the account-holders who post them, and I suspect the Report button has gotten more use during this period than in its entire history.

I have helped and will continue to help people regardless of their post count, or the title under their name, or any other factor. But I won't sit by and watch this forum be over-run with people who either can't understand basic netiquette or are up to something far, far worse.

The utility of bhw is getting far more diluted by basic questions and trolling attempts without any regard for the search function, and by malicious files being offered up as sought-after apps, than by anything else.

Oh and for the record, I understand what has been mentioned about posters who do not have English as their first language. I always go out of my way to read posts especially carefully before replying when this might be the case. I know of at least one thread where more than one seasoned bhw member apologised and retracted statements based on a misunderstanding of OP's comments due to a language barrier.

Also, for the record your Honor, some of us "native-English-speakers" actually talk and write WAY FRICKIN' WORSE than people who grew up speaking a different language and have learned English later in life. Yanks are murdering the Queen's English.

I just love the fact that people join the forums and then expect a democracy. Newsflash people, the mods run the site so they make the rules, break the rules and you are at their mercy. This forum could easily be a subscription only site but its not so people new to IM can learn about how to make some money online. The more this privilege is abused the more likely everyone will have to pay to even read the 1000's of great methods that are on here.

I can't believe people are such idiots

I call posters that act like n00bish retards n00bs and retards. The ones that genuinely want to learn, I help out as much as I can.

Exactly.

Im getting random pms/IMs every day asking various stuff about am i selling CL PVAs, or about anything else, im trying to answer short, and directing them where to find their answer, usually with "use the search button on the forum"... if they keep asking i just forget to answer, because they just PM-ed the first user that they though maybe knows the answer.

On the forum if i see someone has a question/need help about something and they already tryied to find the answer i try to help them out, and answer. But if they post retarded shit of course they will get flamed no matter what. And those that post shit usually end up banned by the end of the week, but they get some cool pics and nice comments before they go :)

zen19,

I respect your opinion, and you can do whatever you want to others, and say whatever is on your mind. It's freedom of speech and you are entitled to your opinion.

However, I, personally refuse to work with people that go into threads (including mine) and start yelling racial slurs, profanity, etc. just because they are hiding the fact that they are secretly racist.

This has happened on multiple occasions, and I don't think it's right to have on one hand Noobs NOT being able to ask questions because they are deemed as "stupid", but then you have illiterate racists going into threads and saying "Get the fuck out of here you dumb stupid bitch".

I mean how's that bringing any respect to this forum?

It's not.

Pretty much the people of BHW are just summed up in 3 categories:

Category 1:
Inexperienced Marketers, "Newbies", People who have English as a Second Language

Category 2:
People who genuinely like helping others, and ignore threads that are asked by "Stupid Noobs" like some people like to say around this forum

Category 3:
A bunch of illiterate racists who think they are tough because they are posting online, but in person they'll run away and hide behind their mommies.

Category 3, unfortunately, is a great majority of the "reputable" people of BHW, not all, but majority.

I Love this thread! Im not here to learn some CPA as I really fail on that one no matter how I try. Im here to work on some people.. Maybe JV's will do or any instant cash. There was this guy at PM telling me Im a scammer since I have a low post then I was like what's this gonna do with the service you need? Cut us some slack here.

Nice reply Pyronaut - rep given.

@Bobbylove321 - In the past few days, I have personally removed a lot of junk and fluff posts. I have left the threads live, and the ban reason in the thread to educate users about the rules and the level of acceptable posting on BHW. I started taking this action due to 50% of posts in the Money Making and Craigslist section being either complete junk or against the rules of the forum.
...
By enforcing this - BHW demonstrates that its not just another crappy wannabe forum, or a newb only forum, rather its the number one forum.
Great post zen19.

Back in the day people would join a group or forum and keep a low profile until they had followed enough threads to get an idea of what was acceptable. New members were encouraged to be lurkers until they had an idea of what was acceptable. Then when they did start posting it would be somewhat relevant.

People that were used to being in forums and had some previous experience with the topic might only lurk around for a short time, people new to the internet, or to the topics would be lurking for a longer time. Either way it was just considered proper etiquette to spend time reading through the archives and following the new posts from other members for a while before jumping in.

Some of the noobs that come on here don't even know what real hardship is. Most of their sob stories make me think, wow I wish that was as bad as things had gotten for me. I was fairly successful, and then lost everything I own because of the mortgage crisis. Everyone has a sob story, just most of us try to learn how to get out of it on our own instead of sobbing about it and begging for help.

Even with all the hardship I've gone through the only posts I made during my first 3 or 4 months was in threads where I purchased some backlinks and such. Other than that I spent my time here reading and trying things I was learning. I think the bulk of the people that join BHW do the same.

As the economy keeps taking longer to recover, more and more people keep joining places like this and immediately start a new thread before taking the time to look around. There are thousands of ways to make money already posted in this forum. Without giving it any thought, the noob HELP ME threads are basically asking for people to start reposting all the ideas from the other forums into their thread cause they haven't bothered to look around. It's just pointless.

Thanks for all your work zen19, and thanks to the other mods and admins as well for trying to keep this forum targeted to its main purpose.

zen19,

I respect your opinion, and you can do whatever you want to others, and say whatever is on your mind. It's freedom of speech and you are entitled to your opinion.

This is a common mistake on Internet forums - you dont have freedom of speech, you are permited to make posts subject to rules and subject to any requests that the owners and the appointed staff of that forum may make.

I have a special dislike of racists, who lets be fair are perfect examples of people who are mentally challenged. If someone is being racist in your thread, or indeed ANYWHERE on BHW then use the report button. There is a specific rule against this, and its one that *every* staff member takes seriously.

I'm continuing to give you the benefit of the doubt and engage in an open discussion with you. This post is utter junk though - let me sum it up what you just said:

The majority of BHW posters are racist cowards or newbies who dont have english as their first language, but some people (not the majority) are just here to help
Thats simply not true - and I am forced to wonder what the reasoning behind you making that post was. You should probably explain yourself, as im sure like me, lots of BHW users resent your comments - as we would simply not use a forum where the majority of users where cowardly racists.

there have been numerous posts started in the forum feedback section about having a "newb section" but we always get to the same conclusion... if people are not willing to look for the information themselves before asking for all the secrets of the universe to be laid out in a nicely formatted pdf document then they're probably in the wrong place.

this place is great for learning and most of the users are fun to mess around with.

Also I think you'll find that alot more member fall into your category 2 rather than 3, it just gets really tiresome seeing the same threads posted over and over again, sometimes before the first post has dropped off the first page. Some users here may be a bit hostile towards noobs but it's mainly because we are all constantly repeating ourselves. Most people who have been here a while are happy to help and by help i meant give advice and guidance, not spoonfeeding.

Whichever way you look at it, this argument is just going to go around in circles till the end of time, so it's just something that comes with being a member here, get used to it

I agree that some users here are just plain insulting to others, but it is probably how they go through life in general, and I am sure they will never get very far.

But the times I have asked for help, I have had nothing but helpful replies - no complaints here!

@gregstereo - You made some great points in your whole post, but that part especially grabbed me.

It is easy enough, even though it's extremely time consuming for mods to find and delete posts, but finding infected downloads is a whole nother matter. I used to download a lot more from here just to kinda check stuff out, see if I can stumble upon a gem, but lately I've really curtailed that activity cause I don't want to chance getting something malicious. Now, I download something if I really think I will need it, and feel like taking extra precautions.

I've seen a lot of aged accounts getting banned lately over this, and I don't want to end up infected myself and go through the same thing as them. That's going to be harder for the mods to combat. I hope they can figure something to do about it though.

Just wondering how many people would treat a customer as a "n00b" in their of line business in this manner, for example I am in construction, if a perspective client asked me a question that i have been asked 5,000,000 times already would i reply " dont be a retard you f'ing n00b go read my flyer about it" or would i be polite and answer to the best of my abilities ?? i know which i would do, Just my 2cents worth, like others have said if the post annoys you move on to one that "you think" is a valid one to answer properly

Posting this kind of makes you a reverse ''internet tuff guy'' .

I also don't think I have anything more to contribute to this thread, since I couldn't word it better than zen19 anyway: retards deserve to get flamed.

PS: People should flame ''Moral Booster'' threads more, goddamnit I hate posts that take 8 paragraphs to say the obvious ''Never give up, Work hard and you'll achieve your goals''. I come to this forum to learn and share online money making techniques, not listen to some peptalk from an oldschool Indian Guru.

But what if it wasn't a customer, but rather a new employee in your company, and all the questions they were asking were answered in the mandatory training material that they were supposed to be reading through.

What if everytime you went through your voicemail, you had to wade through numerous messages from that coworker over and over, before you could get to the important messages that you need to take care of your customers properly.

Because thats basically what we all are here is coworkers in the im business trying to help each other out. How long would you be supportive of that new coworker in your business, before calling him a noob and telling him to go read the material you already provided.

edit - The reason your suggestion to just move on if the post annoys you is a bad idea, is because then those kind of posts will breed themselves. As much as you think flaming is all about hate, it isn't. Calling people on this type of thing is the best help you can give them. Many members, including myself also include some additional info about learning to use the search button, how to use search engines, and how to find other forums to learn remedial things as well as using BHW to learn marketing tactics and more advanced tactics. That is the best advice that most of these people need to know. Sometimes the school of hard knocks, means that your going to be knocked hard. It lets them know they are stepping off on the wrong foot. If the knock is hard enough they may learn to not do it again.

Remember we aren't talking about someone asking a question about something they've taken the time to read about already. Most of these posts are about "I see this forum is about making money, glad I finally found the right place, please tell me how because I really need it because...sob...sob..."

Perfectly legit answer, But, The "n00b Retards" of which I am one dont do that they may well ask a question thats been asked 5,000,000 times but they dont i'm sure badger just one person as in your example, you have to remember that most of the "n00b Retard" questions that are asked, to the Newbie is a valid and legit question, to simply flame them because you have seen that question asked before imho is "rude" and i'm suprised anyone acting in this manner makes anything of themselves, except enemies, anyway just my opinion does this now make me a non "n00b" :D

@ Erricson - You make a great point about starting by reading the forum.

When I joined this forum, I lurked for a month, during which I spent 5-10 hours a day reading every thread I could. It was obvious to me that this forum was going to make me a lot of money - and as such I didnt want to get banned for posting something stupid.

Guess what? It has made me a lot of money - and will make me lots more. I never got banned either, becuase by the time I came to making posts, I knew what was acceptable and what was not.

(Thats not to say im infallible - I make mistakes too)

100% wrong. Posts which repeat content and break rules are seen by everyone on the forum. So these 'newb' posters are limiting the ability for the rest of the members to enjoy a good and clean forum, just because they are too lazy to use the search.
