I have a new site, and it would greatly benefit from backlinks to boost the rankings. Would purchasing PBN's for niche as well as a high quality guest post be wise? Are PBN's dead and only harm the site? I have seen many negative things about PBN but it seems like an effective way to get results. Is there a specific way to use effectively?

If you are asking these questions then quite likely you aren't able to distinguish a good PBN from a bad one so just stay away from them in general.

The majority of the PBNs in the marketplace section should be avoided. There are a few good ones but the vast majority are not worth the money.

If you have the funds, build your own network and then you can call it PRIVATE.

PBN are good and they work but there is a difference between Public Blog Network and Private Blog Network.
So your own private will rank you a public sold and known by everyone will drop you, same apply for guest posts!

Thank you for the guide, just gave it a read. So essentially, the safest way to build links once every 3 days. Didn't see what it said about PBN, but building 1 PBN Link every 3 days could be very beneficial, no?

As someone said there are good and bad PBN.

Backlinks when you build them you should pay attention to get them from authority websites in your niche. It is not mandatory do be in your niche, but it is prefered.

The backlink gives a signal that your website is good. And that you have quality content.
If authority site gives you that signal it will be very good signal for google to rank you.

If you use PBN that everyone uses and that has no authority it will not mean so much.

I don't know your situation, so I can't say. But the guide should point you in the right direction.

Also, don't think of link building in terms of precise numbers, this is actually a terrible idea as google are basing some of their penalties on patterns they detect and if you build 1 link every 3 days like clockwork, well... I'm sure you can see what a bad idea this is

Your sites will do good as long as you get links from sites with organic traffic
That's all that really matters. PBN isn't a shortcut in most cases.

All things are matter for guest posing but use good PBN's.
