My inbox is always filled with all sorts of mysterious emails, most of them being junk mail, including product advertisements that I usually don't bother to browse through. Many of these product ads don't make a good first impression on me, especially with the overwhelming amount of text. Reading through a massive collection of text on a small screen is quite a painful task, and I'd jokingly suggest advertisers send me a magnifying glass! However, I still believe that email has its wide range of use cases, with the key one being mobile.
I've noticed that people are spending more and more time on their phones, and personally, I spend an average of seven to eight hours a day on mine. When an email arrives on my phone, I'm almost certain to see it right away. If the email's content interests me, I'm likely to open it immediately, as long as it has a responsive layout with reasonably sized buttons that make it easy for me to click.
Of course, besides mobile, we can't ignore the usage on tablets and computers, so it's essential to ensure that emails can adapt to various screen sizes. All in all, despite the less-than-great experience email currently provides me, I still see a promising future for it.
