Asking a bunch of strangers who know nothing about you or your life and without providing any details won't result in any good ideas.

I think I'm gonna down to upwork but .net jobs here are extremely competitive. So many people do it and I have no strategy to compete

Finally go into freelancing. I know many tech guys earning $10-15k USD (In europe, not with US cost of living!) per month easily without being ultra high skilled. Check out companies like Hays etc to get into projects.

If you are not somewhere very remote find a .NET user group in a nearby city to go to. Many of them are on Meetup nowadays. You should be able to find recruiters and make other contacts there to help with finding a job.

Evaluate where it went wrong. Was it because of some poor code? Office politics (be honest, and be critical to yourself)?

Take some time off and improve on what went wrong. Keep learning even if you are off.

Then reapply in atleast 20 companies.

I bet you will get a better job.

My previous company also lay me off at the end of July. Now I am stuck. Probably i could go and work as freelancer in fiverr, upwork, workana... but to be honest, i guess working with clients is a pain in the a**.
What should I do? Well, I like web scraping and backend side. I would like work for myself, but I am not feeling confidence w/ me. I don't know, at the end you nee to effort yourself to do something.

If normal people work 5 hours, you will work 10 hours so you will be preferred.

It doesnt work this way, you have to write clean and modular code/libraries so you don't lose time each time you have to edit your program or add a feature. Instead of working 10 hours spend some time learning data structure, software engineering techniques and some math
