I think I am starting to consider leaving DistroKid, although this platform already had problems with some things it is getting stricter and worse.
Here are some points (RECENTLY, this company already has a lot of problems) why you should consider leaving DistroKid or move it down in your list of candidates to distribute music:
1) Waiting times: A few weeks ago songs were approved almost instantly, an advantage over other distributors that take days or even weeks to do this, now, I've been waiting more than a week to upload a song, when before, it was only minutes/hours.
2) Customer service: I have several accounts on the platform and there are some guys who are trying to download my content by uploading copyrighted songs in my name, it's been 4 days since I reported the situation to DistroKid and they have not been able to give me an answer. They will probably cancel my accounts for violating the rules even when I have uploaded absolutely nothing, on top of that, these songs are uploaded through their same distributor.
3) Content approval: I upload filtered songs so I shouldn't complain about this, but, there is material which I just have and it hasn't been published on any platform and these guys (with new accounts) still reject me.
I tried to transfer a song I had on another distributor (ONERPM, soon I will make a thread talking about how crap they are) and even though the material was mine, they didn't want to accept it (I uploaded everything correctly, removed the other distributor's content and added the ISRC, these guys rejected it, anyway, I lost a lot of money, on top of that, they banned my account for trying to upload my own content (this was nothing illegitimate, it was all from me).
