hosting / domaining companies do this often, so it's not necessarily a scam.

However, there's a chance that before paying they will let you know somewhere on the plans / checkout page that the domain is free only if you buy hosting or something else. Hosting / domaining companies do this often, too so be ready for both options :)

after 1 year they ask double money for renewal so better buy it from someone else
