Is it still worth to create A site?
what is the purpose of that kind of websites?

You're not seeing them in the SERPs any more? I see them cropping up all the time, mainly for informational searches. The sites seem to run the gamut from vanilla Generatepress templates to nice slick news outlet style designs that have made an effort with EEAT. Content-wise I'm seeing mainly a mix of scraped and AI-generated, with longer answers given instead of small scraped paragraphs.

When you make these sort of sites you factor in that they are gonna get hit sooner or later (I've certainly had some that have fallen into limbo), but there's still plenty of revenue to be made through them, especially if you start off with a decent aged domain.

Same. Especially after this core update the SERPs are all kinds of messed up.

My top performing snippet got replaced by one of these sites.

And the traffic they are pulling is insane.

The large majority of my site is PAA, a lot of money to be made especially if you go for an evergreen niche.

As Steptoe said, PAA sites are still there. While some get hit, new ones poping up and they rank well. I've seen sites with either basic GP theme or fancy well-made themes both rank just fine, sometimes they rank very high. AI or scraped or mixed. Some last longer, some shorter.

But PAAs are still doable, for sure.

The biggest thing I've learned from all these years on Reddit, is that when people ask: is xx dead, they actually mean: I'm planning on doing this: would you recommend me doing such? But saying the dead thing brings 10-20x more attention

The use of aged domains helps because there are already backlinks present (unless you've bought an aged domain without backlinks for some reason) and a degree of authority. A fresh domain will need some time to gain traction (at least 3 months), by which time many webmasters have given up.

I understand the reasoning behind, thanks.

Where does the 3 months mark comes from ? Also, doesn't it depend on the keywords you rank for ? For example, if you rank for a low competition keyword, I assume the age of your domain/your backlink profile doesn't matter, am I right ?

But then again, we come back to index those pages faster.
