What is more important? Domain Age, Rank, etc?

Hi,

Can you please give me your opinion of what the order of importance of the following when buying expired domains in auction:

1.Domain Age
2. Domain Rank
3. Backlinks
4. Traffic

and anything else that I missed, please list it in order of importance.

Well based on what I have heard, Domain age, Rank, and sometimes even backlinks get reset to 0 when a domain goes expired.

Though I don't know how true that is for sure.

It's a unique variation for different sectors and where you're entering the sector from. If there is ZERO or low competition for keywords and you can make an impact with a domain I would go for:

1. Backlinks
2. Traffic

If it is something you see being a long tail investment then Domain age and rank are good too. They are all important although the one I would mark as being "less" important is the age of the domain.

Who cares about domain age? Does a G Sandbox exist (lol)? domain age is not a huge concern.

What are your intentions? Give me more and better information and I'll give you a better answer.

Eventhough I am fairly new to SEO I would believe that you have to distinguish between what kind of traffic. A lot of bought traffic will not get a site anywhere.

However if you manage to get a huge traffic exposer through viral marketing or any similar things, well yes than that would take care of everything as those people would create backlinks for you.

Obvious traffic is #1 because that is what you aim for...

Backlinks lead to traffic...

Compared to those four criterias you provide, the number one must be traffic.
These days it's hard to get domain with generic keyword, so to make domain is valuable, we must have good traffic. For second, and so on I think it doesn't matter a lot.

I think, the most important is Age, because you can't change the date of getting a domain, but you can add more back-links in future.

I agree traffic is important, but is it more important than backlink?

Domain Age is most important as long as its over 5 years

(below this and it does not count AT ALL.)

And like the person above said - once the domain is expired, then it does go back to 0, so if your buying an old domain name - make sure its not expired.

Next would be traffic, then backlinks

Only backlinks are real, think about how Google can reset incoming backlinks if they exists?
