My client domain got hacked. What to do next?

Hi,

I got one client who want to do SEO for his website. His business is locally into a particular area only, very less competition.

But when i checked his domain using the site: operator I found there are total 702 pages which are indexed and everything is in japanese. I asked him about it client said I once hosted the website in a cheap hosting.

His website is having total 15 pages. Now my question is:

1. How can i remove all those infected pages from Google result?
2. Can i do SEO on this domain?
3. Should i tell them to leave this domain and get a new one?

Please guide me what should I do into this.

1) restore the website from backups (most hosting companies offer this)

2) explore the reason: typical:
2.1) nulled themes/plugins
2.2) dishonest freelancer (lots of them at Fiverr) who advertise their services cheap just to get access to your website
2.3) using themes/plugins/modules that haven't been updated for a long time > have known vulnaribilities
2.4) somebody has his/her passwords > the most dangerous case > 1st thing to do here is to secure the email.. chance the passwords only after that

The domain remains your authority or that of your client.

What you need to do is look for the most recent backup if you have one and restore it to your hosting.

To remove indexed pages you need to log into your Search Console account, go to the Removals area and make a request for the URLs you want to remove.

As already mentioned by theHelmuts, be very careful with nulled scripts or those you find on forums, wordpress is more targeted for this type of "attack".
