I've been a serious knowledge whore reading everything, every ebook, every expert everything I could get my hands on. And then I ignored 90% of it and applied the ideas that I had. I'm sharing them here.

I launched the website about childhood stories I would hear on Halloween.
1. I used google webmaster tools, I created a sitemap and used Google Analytics for the site.
2. I created a facebook page talking about it, I emailed radio stations and local schools about the website that it was up.
3. I was on page 3 of google the first month and then page 1 month 2.
4. Earlier today I was number 1 for the site but and then the facebook page I just found was number 1. So they are both 1 and 2 are mine.
What did I learn, Unique IP Addresses to your site do move it up the scale. People that spent actual money to be number 1 have emailed me and were not happy at all.
Work smart and not hard, I joined a few other sites that talk about hometown stories and posted my link and exchanged stories with them but I didn't overlink, I just worked a little every month, not day or hour just month.
But then again, I'm not trying to make money at all it was just to see if I could get it to move and move it did.
Its not much to look at but its a real interesting flow of information that made it happen.
